USENET is the internet's UNMODERATED forum for public opinion. Close to 100,000 individual bulletin boards exist (called newsgroups), covering nearly every subject imaginable - if you have a hobby or interest of any sort, you are sure to find a newsgroup for it.

However, if you are seeking facts, then you are taking your chances on Usenet. Sure, people will be ready and willing to impart their knowledge, though whether their views are correct or accurate is often debatable.

Peoples' manners too, can vary greatly in Usenet. As with any collection of people, you will find a wide range of personalities, some of them extremely helpful and full of good advice, while others will be just plain rude and obnoxious. You will need to take the good with the bad. At the end of the day remember this: An upsetting remark is only the OPINION of one person.
