Guiding Principles            [view feedback blog]

Abiding in Jesus Christ
We take Jesus' words seriously when he said the following:

"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him, bears much fruit;
for without me you can do nothing." (John 15:4,5)

As a result, the most important relationship we wish to cultivate is that between us and the Lord our God!

Six steps to abundant life
We believe that the following six steps, which can be easily memorized and applied in a simple jigsaw-puzzle diagram, provide a holistic, true, comprehensive, yet simple way of understanding life and how God wants us to live:  (see also Growth Design)

1. Being "born again"
2. Identity in Christ
3. Christian Community life
4. Daily living God's way
5. Gifts and talents
6. Servant leadership

Click here for more information on the six steps

The fact that these six steps form the shape of the cross is significant, because the cross represents DEATH TO SELF. Jesus said:
"If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it." (Luke 9:23,24).

If we crucify our selfishness, pride, and self-seeking, we become free to be in relationship with others, and so experience abundant life!

Four Pillars of Christian Community
1. Since we are the Body of Christ, we seek to learn to live and work together.
2. Since we are the
Household of God, we seek to look out for each other's needs.
3. Since we are the
Temple of God, we seek to actively worship and obey God.
4. Since we are the
Bride of Christ, we seek to grow in purity and faithfulness.

Strengthening Families
We celebrate the fact that the human family is the basic social unit of society, and also God's original "mini-church". We as a Christian Community seek to encourage and help each family community, providing the support and protection each family unit may need.
