On Sunday mornings or other times during the week, our Christian community also meets in large or smaller* groups for worship together. Catering for different age groups, or family circumstances, some groups meet for worship in someone's home, others may use a community hall, others may choose to go on an outing as a group and have worship in a park or even at the beach! It is flexible and informal, but most importantly it provides the opportunity for people to seek God in a real and intimate way and which also promotes the building of good friendships and relationships with each other.
Each group decides for itself what they will do when they meet, but we generally try to incorporate and make space for the following: Singing songs and praising God, Words of revelation, Prayers of thanksgiving and confession, Holy Communion, Prayers for each other's needs, Offering for the poor / needy / missionaries / leaders of the church, Teaching, preaching and encouraging from the words of the Bible, Enjoying food together.
* In the early stages of the development of a Christian Community, there may be only "one" group, and the definition of this "Worship" time will tend to blur with that of "Celebration", and they may be one and the same event! The key defining difference between "Celebration" and "Worship" is that the Celebration is intended to be specifically suited for "outsiders" or interested newcomers, for the general community to "come, taste and see"! Worship is specifically intended for those who have already made the decision to follow Jesus Christ.
