September 1st edition

Greetings in the blessed name of Jesus Christ! The Lord has been helping us in New Mexico. We have been in revival at Eunice for the last couple of weeks, and several sinners have been born again. A Brother has been visiting us from Arkansas, and has encouraged a backslider and his girlfriend to attend the revival. The Spirit has been moving so wonderful night after night, and I feel that if this man and his girlfriend would have prayed sincerely that the Lord would have saved them days ago. Sadly, they are both bitter towards the Holiness people, and have not prayed very many times.

However, a Sister brought her friend two weeks ago, Saturday night, and she was wondrously saved. She looked around and said, "I came here thinking I was saved, I even thought I was filled with the Holy Spirit, but I was DECEIVED! Oh, how I was deceived! I had a hard heart, but it is so soft now. The Lord has took it all away, I feel wonderful! I don't have to be mean anymore! I don't have to be mean anymore!" She jumped up and down and ran around the church, she was truly happy!

The next day we had a baptism at the Pecos River (the first in several years, as we have to travel for over an hour to get there!), and three people were saved at the river. Two backslider men, and the woman who was saved the night before brought her sixteen year old daughter to the river where she was saved. She had a ring in her tongue, and another in her belly, but she took them out and left them at the river. No one had told her anything about them, and probably no one but a few knew she even had them. The Lord told her to take them out.

The last week of July was the Mayhill campmeeting, and there was some good preaching. Sister Shirley Lester preached several times in the place of Brother Darryl Toliver, who had just had gall blater surgery. However, the last day Brother Darryl received enough help from the Lord that he preached a wonderful sermon. Also, many other good preachers, young and old, preached wonderfully at the meeting. The atmosphere is so peaceful on the mountain at Mayhill, New Mexico. It is quite a change from hot and dry Eunice.

The news from my family in Arkansas is that the Lord has been helping them in their services as well. My twelve year old cousin prayed through to the Holy Ghost, and her older brother and sister were blessed as well. Their dad said he can tell the difference in their home life. I pray that the Lord will help them, and that they will continue to serve the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

The Hamlin, Texas campmeeting is coming up. Thursday night, September 11, 2003 to Sunday night, September 14, 2003.  The night speaker will be Brother Braxton Bigot from Muldrow, Oklahoma. Two meals will be served daily, and RV hookups are available. Everyone is welcome. It is located at the corner or Hwy 92 and Old Glory Hwy (FM 1835), one mile east of Hamlin, Texas. Turn down the Old Glory Hwy, and you will see the tabernacle. Lord willing I will be attending at least some of the services. (college life does hinder traveling on week days)
