The Holy Ghost is a sweet spirit, a comforter, sent to help Christians along their journey. Jesus said "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you" ~ Acts 1:8 Christians that are filled with the Holy Ghost speak in other tongues, as the spirit gives utterance. It is real. What a wonderful thing it is! Some people believe that the Holy Ghost was only for the apostles, but in fact a hundred people received it when it first came down from heaven. If you live a clean, holy life, and obey God you can receive the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost will not dwell in an unholy temple. Your body is the temple for the Holy Ghost, so live a clean life if you want to always have the Spirit dwelling in you. I had the privilege of hearing a young preacher not long ago preach a great sermon on the Holy Ghost at a youth meeting. I want to share with you the scriptures he took as his text. They are:

"For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people." ~ Isaiah 28: 10-11

Jesus said, "But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine, therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you." ~ John 16: 5-15

Jesus said "And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high." ~ Luke 24: 49

"And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." ~ Acts 2:1-4
