Your caring nature touches all hearts,
Your beauty radiates brighter than twinkling lights,
Your friendship is irreplaceable, and this I shall forever know."

Introduction

Poetry is writing that takes the reader on an emotional journey, if you will, a roller coaster of sentiments. Regardless if one understands what the poet intended to perceive.

Poetry eases the mind; it is like an overwhelming bit of calm. Step into my world with poetry about love and loss, magic and realism, triumph and defeat. A sample collection of some of my pieces of work composed over the few years. Become enraptured by sorrows and joy.

Enjoy and be absorbed.

A Friend

I saw shining glory,
Etched into your eyes,
I saw love burning bright.

I know all I need to know now,
My days are like my nights,
Another unique enlightenment.

A whole new win,
A tribute to you,
You who made my dreams come true.

I saw the wrongs and rights;
In your heart shining on
I saw bravery,
That sometimes you did not know.

All in all you are my friend,
Whom I can count on,
Every step of the way.

Always

I am always here for you,
Through the long and lonely nights;
I will always comfort you,
When life just doesn’t seem right;
I am always in your reach,
Whether that be far or near;
I will always try to make you laugh,
So that you don’t have to face the tears.

Apart

As I write this today,
You soon will go away,
And I am left here to contemplate
Of the next best thing to say;
My dearest friend, how I'll miss you so
I just thought you might need to know,
Over the years our friendship has grown
And the special moments are reaped and sown,
In the last minute of the day
I'll think of you in everyway,
May our time apart still
Be bright and bountiful,
As you take a journey
Across that big blue sea.

A Quiet Day.

Under a rainbow filled sky,
I walked, hoping to pass you by,
Simply finding the daffodils and trees,
And seeing only the eagles and the bees.

I felt the passing of the cool, sweet
Autumn breeze sweep past me like a silken sheet;
On the tinted green grass, there I lay,
Taking in the quiet of that lovely day.

My eyes shifted to a dark outline;
There you were with a gleaming stare that did shine,
A now exposed peach coloured rose in hand,
Pale brown basket of the freshest fruits, and
A tiny little box with a jewel inside.

Not many words were spoken,
But friendship was our everlasting token,
We still had so much love to know and find;
Soon the prismatic sky embraced the sun, which set behind,
The glorious quiet day was ending,
With the sounds of nature forever blending.

Companionship

All of us
We share one tale,
Of the beauty
Our friendship prevails,
Each and every day
The book of our lives opens,
Adding another chapter to its contents,
Yet we share but one tale,
Of a friendship forever more.

Light of Friendship

An utter silence has crept
Into this darkened room,
But from the windows glass
The light has shone through once more,
And upon a starry sky,
And beneath the oceans grip,
Something beautiful has formed
For me like never before.

An end to all torment,
No more feeling morose,
No more shyly hidden cries,
No more emptiness inside,
Just the happiness I yearned for;
The light that has shone through
This life of mine has seen beauty
In my heart, like no one else could.

Sweet Love - by William-Adolphe Bougereau ©

Cascade of Love

Behold the waterfalls dripping with love,
The sweet fountain that is alluring,
Flowing into the rivers, washing up on shore,
Where there it will embrace lovers feet,
Coiling its core around them.

The small rocks covered with the waters kisses,
Gently trickle to and fro,
Feeding the cravings of body and soul,
Where lovers hearts are quenched,
Like a deserts oasis

Closer than a Kiss.

Dimmed lights from the city shone,
Not overpowering the natural resplendency
Of stars that lined the firmament in abundance,
The night, touched with autumns crisp breeze
Sashayed along our fingertips and clothing,
Whilst ocean waves played with night's reflections,
Its sea spray bussed our skin; butterfly sensations.

On the fluffy flaxen sand I turned,
Watching the Coco Palms swinging back and forth,
Its long, lanky branches, a glossy silhouette,
Reaching out towards the moons shaft of light,
Borders of water seized our legs over and over.
Soon it happened, what we were waiting for,
The Meteor showers impregnated the sky,
Short and extended tails glistening tremulously,
Bursting from the belly of the earth.

Holding me ever so closely, you turned my face,
For the first time I noticed those black diamond eyes,
The streams of light above engrossed us,
And with a seemingly never ending embrace,
I knew then, heaven was closer than a kiss
When I was there with you.

Could You?

When these saddened lonely tears
Run down my flushed face,
Could you stroke away all my fears,
With one careful embrace?
Could you kiss away my agony,
With your tender regenerating lips?

Could you lay a sunshine aside,
To brighten up the tedious night?
When I seek refuge to run and hide,
Could you hold me ever so tight?
When my heart is shattered
And pieces of my world seem scattered.

Found Love

You entered my life
So sweetly I suppose,
You came into my heart
Like a growing rose,
You touched my soul
With the warmth inside,
And I thank you
For coming into my life,
At such an unlikely time,
Now I have found love.

Into thy Heart

Into thy heart,
I shall be a part,
And when the silver moon
Doth not shine no more,
I will open up a lighted door,
So thou shall be guided, safely home.

If thou should have saddened dreams,
I shall draw sweet mental picture schemes,
For thee to cross the threshold,
And be safe from the nightmarish cold.

On journeys far and wide,
I shall keep you as my pride,
And if thou should follow
Me on my way; tread lightly
Across the luminosity,
Absorb all the beauty around,
Hidden in the obscurity,
Of a soundless sound.

For into thy heart,
I have become a part,
And when the roaring oceans
Doth not dance no more,
I shall ride with thee
Upon a shooting star,
Dancing on the fires light,
So thou shall pass happily,
The fading night.

Island Love

The beckoning of the island
Called upon to us,
At the same time the tropical breezes
Kissed our necks.
The melting sun
Drew the sky with delight,
Crimson, aqua and yellow
Watercolours so beautiful to the eyes.
With my fingers I caressed the sand,
So pearly white and powdery fine,
The setting, so right.
Laying back in the hammock,
We held each other tight,
Soon to fall asleep in your arms,
And wake to the twinkling of stars.

Locket of Love

A locket of love is worn next to my heart,
Two souls unit as one, never to part,
A journey of a hundred miles gives rise
Into the breadths and depths of your eyes.

The alluring ocean calls out to you and me,
Ride the waves of romance out on the sea,
This unbreakable connection we share,
Such a magical love affair.

Your beauty stays with me all day long,
My heart filled with affection grows more strong,
No matter where you venture to alone,
Know that you are not far from home.

I am just stardust in your hands,
Delicate like the soft grains of sands,
Let me be the whispers of the breeze,
All hurt and sadness I shall ease.

When I close my eyes to dream,
I think of my life with this new love so serene,
When I turn around you are always there,
Telling and showing me just how much you care.

A locket of love is worn next to our heart,
Two souls unit as one never to part,
A journey of a hundred miles gives rise
Into the breadths and depths of lover's eyes.

Only You.

Only you can chase the storm away,
And make the sun shine bright in the sky.
Only you can make my day
Happier, and wipe my tears when I cry.
Only you can share a song or two
And make it seem like eternity.

Only you can touch my heart the way you do,
And dance with me like there is no end.
Only you can hear my sayings of truth,
And sincerity, your way I do send.
Only you can make me soften
In your arms by just your stare.
Only your goodness be heartfelt,
You are my one and only care.

Romance

I remember that magical night,
As if only yesterday,
We gathered at a cosy spot
Overlooking the calm ocean,
And watched the sunset
Melt into temptations arms,
Then under the new moons glow,
Came the twinkling in your eyes,
Enticing; as we bathed in warm candlelight.

The sweet enduring moment,
Slowly was coming to an end,
As we took a stroll on the beach,
Hand in hand;
Lips that did not pull away,
Soon finding a welcoming embrace,
I never wanted to let go, my love,
Your enchantment made me yearn,
Yearn for such tenderness once more.

You Are

You are my inspiration,
You are the wisdom I seek
When I need advice.
You are the love that my heart
Has grown to know.
You lend a shoulder to cry on
When I'm feeling down inside.
You always put a smile on my face
Washing away the pain I sometimes hide.
You are my understanding,
You are the compassion I seek
In the dark, cold, lonely nights.
You find the best in me
When no one else seems to.
You help me see better days
Lying within the rainbow skies.
You are all there is to be,
For this I thank you,
You are everything to me,
And I shall forever love you
