February 2005 Check the Chamonix Meteo site for updates to our local weather. . February 09 - Weather has been great after a big dump of snow a couple of weeks ago. Skiing is better, but somehow the mountains are still a bit bare in spots. More snow forecast for this weekend. Gen's busy taking a weeklong ski course with Evolution 2 in early Feb to improve her skiing off-piste and in moguls. Also working busily on updating the Flickr web site with new photos whenever she gets a chance . . . . Home dialysis has been going well and makes it nicer for everyone. The first day saw 3 doctors (one from China to observe how it works so she could set up a home dialysis program there). We've turned bedroom 4 into the home office/dialysis center. . Rob has been offered and accepted full time work as a ski instructor with the British ski school Interski. He will be based in Pila, Italy which is about 1 hour from our place via the Tunnel du Mont Blanc. He'll drive back and forth each day. . Rob has more BASI (British Alliance of Ski Instructors) courses to take this winter towards earning his Level II qualifications (he did Level III last season). He will spend 3 weeks in Zermatt Switzerland at the end of the season for that. . This year's roommates in bedroom 2 and 3 of our chalet are Mark and Christian. Mark has stayed with us several seasons already and is a London emergency room nurse in the non-ski season. We met Christian this year by posting an ad for a roommate on a notice board in town (the old fashioned way). He's from Dublin Ireland and is a photographer and works on film crews and is also working towards his BASI ski instructors license at the same level as Rob. |
