| December 2004 Check Chamonix Meteo site for updates to the local weather. . December 14 - OK - it snowed once in November......and......we are still waiting. Pistes in Chamonix are brown and not yet open, and as per usual everywhere else in France seems to have gotten it together to at least make snow to ski on. What is wrong with the Compagnie du Mont Blanc? Will we have a white Christmas??? Stay tuned. . Gen took 2 trips to the states in November - once for work and to visit family at Thanksgiving. . Home dialysis scheduled to start on December 20th for Rob. A whole team of people from Grenoble will be at our place all day long for the inaugural run... . We have an addition to the family. She is Kayla our April Fool pup who is 1/2 Appenzeller, 1/4 Bernese and 1/4 Hovawart which is a German breed of guard dog similar in size and shape to Golden Retrievers. She and Kobi get along great and she enjoys tormenting him to no end. He is patient and tolerant of her and comes up on the bed to lick her face each morning, along with ours, of course. We got her from Bern, Switzerland and Kobi got to meet her, and her mum and sister and they all played together before we decided to take Kayla home. We've kept in touch with her original owner and sent photos so she can see how she is growing. . Rob has more BASI (British Alliance of Ski Instructors) courses to take this wintertowards earning his Level II qualifications (he did Level III last season). |

| News on the business side of life - We ended up doing very very well with the weekly rental business on the downtown Chamonix flat, managing to fill all but 3 weeks up until December 2004! The winter will not be run by the week, giving Gen a well deserved break. Our apartment rental page is http://www.alpsadventures.com We still have the whole winter available but expect to rent it out in the next 2 months. Otherwise, all of October/November are spoken for, as is June 2005! A number of people who stayed with us this summer say they will return next summer. Aside from an emergency toilet replacement required one Saturday in August, the summer rental season went along without a hitch. |
