Kobi is just starting adolescence now. Getting feisty and barky boyish when he plays rope tug games (he isn't allowed to win these and still does a perfect 'sit' when asked, even in the middle of a growly pull-fest!!). Peeing on trees is his thing now too. Plays great with other dogs and isn't aggressive. Hope he stays this tolerant and good natured as the winter passes (puppy adolescence is from about 6-8 months). He still has to have his morning belly rubs or he won't get up to go outside in the morning.

Kobi and his stick while out hiking at Vallorcine, mid October 2002
Stuff he'll do most of the time:
Up (onto whatever you point at), Down (from same), Jump (over things like streams, low fences), Bark (he barks however many times you say 'bark'), Sit, Stay, Rollover, Wave (your paw while sitting), Lay Down, Wait (while this treat is placed on some part of you and eat it when we say 'ok'), Find It (whatever 'it' is at the moment that he is shown to go find), Take it (put the thing I'm pointing at in your mouth and carry it), Drop, Leave it alone, Find daddy, Find mommy, Come when called (off leash), Catch (the thing I throw to you - currently treats), Where's your Kong?, Do you need to go outside?, No, Toilette! (bad behavior), No bite

When he's tired/feeling like behaving he will 'heel' and listen to things like 'slow down' when we are running.

He loves holding the leash when we run together (up to 5 miles now)  - even if he is 'off leash' he grabs it and runs holding it in front of me.
Morning belly scratches are an essential start to the day......

Kobi in Verbier Switzerland, early September 2002
Still being an obedient 'good boy' about 90% of the time --- just as long as he gets his daily dose of exercise to get his 'ya yas' out. He's getting a different coat - the 'seal fur' look is gone, and curly wavey hair is replacing it. Still has that puffy fluff hair on his head though...Lost all his baby teeth at about 4.5 months (teething was not fun for him and he 'complained' out loud all the time - ice cubes and cold carrots to chew on helped). I saved one - it fell out when we were walking one day. I think he ate the rest of them......
