Known Powers:
           Discord has the ability to release a black haze that sticks to people, causing their worst fears to be relived in front of their eyes and in their dreams. She also has other offensive uses for these powers and uses them frequently. When one is describing her abilities one must not use the words mutant powers for she is not a mutant. Discord is a normal human that was subjugated to abnormal amounts of radiation that caused abnormal results. During her exposure to the radiation Discord developed immunity to diseases.
         Her physical appearance was altered slowly due to the radiation and needs to be exposed to it for "recharging". Without radiation her powers weaken and fade.

History:
          Helen was born with a severe birth defect. What it was exactly is unknown. But, thanks to a harsh therapy that used an unnatural amount of radiation, the birth defect went away.
          She started the therapy almost directly after birth and it continued until Helen was 15. As a child, Helen was teased because she was different. The teasing only worsened as her physical appearance altered to their present state. This made her develop a thick shield and a short fuse as well as a hatred for anyone who was "normal".
          When she was fifteen she went to school directly after her treatment. She felt weaker than she normally did after her therapy and was under a greater amount of teasing. Although she pleaded for them to stop they wouldn't. She held up her hands, suddenly angry when a black haze came from here and surrounded the group of students. They suddenly began scream and recoil, all seeing what they feared most in front of them. Helen was afraid of what she did but felt proud of giving her tormentors a taste of their own medicine. She quickly learned how to master her powers and made a promise to repay humanity with the suffering and harsh treatment that it showed her.
         She witnessed the Gorgon's in action when they first fought the Guardians and wanted to join them and aid them in their vengeful quest. She approached Medusa a year after watching them fight and asked to join the team. Although doubtful, Medusa allowed it. Helen, intent on proving her worth attacked a group of police and single handedly brought them to their knees. Medusa was impressed by her abilities and allowed Discord to join the team as a full member.   Because of her goal and love for mythology Helen took on the code name Discord, the Greek goddess of misfortune. She has been with the team for two years and has proven to be a valued team member.
