Russell
Elliot sat looking at his wife Camille.
She sat opposite him, also listening to the fight between Renee
and Cleo
in Cleo’s bedroom. They had been fighting for the past half an hour and didn’t
show any possibility of finishing soon.
Russell was trying to build up his courage, so
he could tell Camille that he wanted a divorce.
“Camille I need to talk to you about something”
he began.
“Well you sure have picked a great time to do
it. What is it?” she snapped back.
“I want a divorce. I want us to split up. This
marriage has been on rocky ground for ages now, and I think that we have
drifted apart too much” Russell said, all in one go.
He looked at his wife for a reaction, but found
none. After almost twenty seconds she spoke.
“But why?”
“I have someone else” Russell answered. This was
breaking her heart.
Russell’s dream ended. I can’t do this. I can’t
tell her he thought, watching her as she listened in on
the argument. Russell knew that deep down inside he still loved certain things
about his wife, but he wasn’t in love with her.

“You are coming with me, this isn’t your home” Renee
said, looking out the window as she tried to make sense of Cleo’s
decision.
“This is my home. Aunt Camille
and Russell treat me well. Russell doesn’t hit me, doesn’t
shout at me. He doesn’t hit Camille either”
“You will do as I say. I am your mother”
“Camille has been more of a mother to me than
you will ever be” Cleo retorted, hurting her mother. Cleo ran to the door and
left the room as tears started to appear in Renee’s eyes.
A couple of minutes later Camille entered the
room. She moved towards her sister.
“Oh Renee” Camille said as she placed her hand
on her sister’s shoulder.
“She said that” Renee began as she turned
around. She stopped speaking as she started to cry. Camille gave Renee a hug
and comforted her sister – just like she had done when they were younger.
“I heard what she said. I remember the time you
said exactly the same thing to mother”
“What?”
“That anyone would be a better mom than she was”
“I didn’t did I?” Renee asked.
“Yes, you were arguing over clothes. Funny how
things turn out isn’t it?” Camille said as she put her hand on her sisters.
“Yes. Now I know how mom felt when I told her
that”
“Look I am not going to tell you to leave Kelvin
again” Camille began.
“Good because I don’t want to hear it. He loves
me and I love him. He isn’t going to harm me anymore”
“But how about having Cleo stay here, with me
and Russell. What do you think?”
“I want her to come back with me tonight. She
should be with me Camille, I am her mother” Renee stated as she stood up.
“She isn’t going to budge. She is as stubborn as
you and there is no way she will be on that flight tonight. You know that as
much as I do”
“But what about school, what about her life back
in Oz?”
“She could start school here. She has already
made new friends and her mother you were born here in America so it is up to
you” Camille said.

Russell stood outside the apartment building. He watched Kayla
make her way out through the doors with Nate
by her side.
“I can’t believe what I did last night. I feel
so embarrassed” he heard her say. Russell then walked briskly through the doors
and then up the stairs. Outside of the apartment he pushed a buzzer and heard
the phone ring inside the apartment.
“It’s me” he whispered, although loud enough for
Judi
to hear. He a click and then pushed the door open. Judi moved closer to him and
then kissed Russell after she reached him, before he could
“How did she
take it?” Judi asked, running her palms up and down his jacket. Russell didn’t
respond, just looked at her blankly. Judi pulled away and waited again for him
to respond.
“You couldn’t tell her could you?” she asked.
“There was so much going on. When I got home Renee,
her sister, was there. She and Cleo
were fighting and I didn’t have a chance. I am sorry”
“It is okay. I understand”
“I will try and tell her tomorrow as Renee will
be leaving tonight” Russell said. Judi moved closer to him and they shared a
hug.

Divine stood outside the door to Victor’s
penthouse. She had just been discharged from hospital and was about to enter
the penthouse and collect her things. Divine searched in her bag for her keys
and then opened the door.
When she was inside the penthouse Divine smiled.
Despite Victor kicking her out, everything else was going well. Even the unexpected
moment when she had been pushed down the stairs had worked to her advantage.
“In just a couple of months Victor will regret
ever meeting me” Divine laughed. She walked into the bedroom and walked towards
one of the closets. She then proceeded to take out a box from the back of the
closet and left the box down on the bed.
As she took a seat on the bed, Divine saw an
image of herself as a little girl with a man by her side.
“It’s all right Dani, don’t be scared” she
heard the man say.
After she opened the cardboard box, Divine took
out a picture of the man in the flashback. He was smiling and looked happy.
“Daddy” Divine said to herself.

Cleo could feel the tension in the air. It was only her first day and yet
she felt that she was one of the most hated people in the school. As she took a
seat beside Leo,
she could see the dirty look that Kayla,
still embarrassed following Leo’s rejection at the party, was giving her. It
had been like that all day.
“So, how do you like it so far?” Leo asked. Cleo
turned to him and looked blankly at him, before responding.
“It is okay I suppose” she answered quietly, now
feeling claustrophobic with so many people crowding around her, introducing
themselves. Cleo looked around and smiled, a nervous smile. She noticed that Paris
was sitting with one of friends. It was strange. Paris had been sort of nice
all day, not like the party where there had been cold stares and bitchy
comments. Maybe Paris had changed in two weeks.
“Hello, anyone in there?” Gayle
asked. She was confused as to why Paris seemed so distracted all of a sudden.
“What?” Paris asked, watching Nate
talk to Kayla, behind all the people introducing themselves to Cleo.
“You seem out of it, really out of it. Are you
okay?”
“Yes fine” snapped Paris.
“Oh, I see. Its Leo isn’t it?”
“No”
“Ready to put the plan into action on
Wednesday?”
“What plan?” Paris asked, this time taking her
eyes off Nate and turning to Gayle. Gayle sighed.
“You want Leo don’t you?” Gayle began. She
continued without waiting for an answer. “So remember what we were talking
about the night of the party? The plan to rig the pairings for the history
assignment?”
Paris was shocked. “You are still going ahead
with that?”
“Yes”
“Well I don’t want you to so keep your stupid
plans to yourself and leave me alone” Paris snapped again. This time she got up
and left Gayle wondering what it was she said.
“What is up with her?” Jacob
asked, causing Gayle to jump.
“I don’t know, but I think it has something to
do with Leo”

Mercedes Spencer walked through the doors of the club. She was back and wasn’t all that
happy to be back. It had been three weeks since she had been here, but it
seemed more like three minutes. Sebastian
was sitting watching a girl on the stage. Mercedes took a seat beside him,
puzzled as to why he would need to hire new staff when there where already more
than enough strippers.
“You are back then are you?” Sebastian asked.
“Yes, but what is she doing here?”
“She is the replacement for Divine”
“What?” asked a surprised Mercedes.
“Divine never showed up before Christmas so we
had to get someone else to do her part instead”
This raised Mercedes’ curiosity. Why didn’t
she show up? Mercedes wondered.

In the dressing room within the club Honey
emerged from the shadows. She walked towards one of the tables in the room and
left her bag down on it. Honey then proceeded to close the door.
After rotting in the bag for a couple of
seconds, Honey pulled out a tissue, which was concealing something else. As she
pulled away the tissue a smile appeared on Honey’s face. She left down the
tissue and ran her finger along the gun which she had purchased earlier that
day.
“Oh Mercedes,
soon Sebastian will be mine” she laughed.
