History: Season 1: We first met Russell after he
and his wife, Camille, returned after they attended her sister’s wedding. On
the night of Chardonnay and Gabe’s engagement party, which Camille and Russ
had been invited to because of her friendship with Leslie, Cleo turned up.
Cleo, Camille’s niece, had run away from Australia and had decided to move in
with the Elliot’s. Camille and Russell were
forced to agree to her staying with them. At the party Russell felt strangely
attracted to his colleague and long term friend, Judi Anders. He followed her
into the kitchen, where he kissed her. Judi said nothing could happen because
of Camille and Russell agreed. Both as the New Year drew close, Russell left
work and rushed across town to Judi’s apartment. They kissed again, and began
an affair, as the fireworks went off. The following morning Russell
promised to finish his marriage to Camille, but he couldn’t as his sister in
law Renee had appeared to take Cleo home. He told Judi and their affair
continued. But when they were caught by Carla Peterson, a nurse at the
hospital, Russell became angry as he feared that Carla might reveal
everything to Camille. Carla didn’t, but Russell and Judi’s relationship
seemed to be on the rocks until Judi arranged to meet him. She arrived on his doorstep,
planning to finish it with him, but before she could Russell kissed her and
they started to make love. Camille opened the door and spotted them, but
didn’t say anything and just ran away.
