| February 2004 - Visit to Taiwan - I had hoped to take Haruno High School students to Thailand to visit their pen-pals after their graduation. Due to the world situation and bird-flu outbreaks, we decided not to do the trip. Instead, one student and I traveled to Taiwan. Miki and I visited many places of historical significance to learn about the histories of Taiwan, China, and Japan. We met many local people, tried interesting foods, and learned a lot! We were sad that we were not able to visit the orphanage in Thailand, but plan to do that in the future. In the meantime, we learned a lot about Taiwan, and it was a very educational and worthwhile trip for both of us. |
