February 2004 - Stationary Supplies - I taught at Kitahama Jr. High School about "needs" and "wants".  We compared the lives of Japanese students to those in Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia.  Then we did the "If the World Were 100 People" project and learned about where the Japanese stands in relation to the majority of the people of the world.  At the end, the students agreed to collect stationary supplies for orphaned children in South East Asia.  The students made posters to place all over the school.  One month later, I collected the supplies and I was SOO impressed!  They had collected a HUGE box of supplies!  I was so proud of them!
