Prompted by the Founder's love for the poor and neglected children and the burning desire to help them in anyway, Bishop Cirilo R. Almario, Jr., D.D. and Mo. Leonides Mendoza formally started this Congregation on December 13, 1990 with ten (10) others as first members. At present, there are already 37 members in the religious institute.

The Religious Catechists of Mary is a Marian religious institute called to incarnate Christ's joyful obedience and to carry out the task of proclaiming the Good News, helping people deepen and nourish their faith in Christ.

As Marian catechists, we express this charism of education by formation of catechists, public school religious instruction, youth ministry and pastoral works.

From its Mother House at Sta. Isabel, Malolos, Bulacan, eight other communities were built: RCM Novitiate, Sta. Elena, Hagonoy, Bulacan; RCM Juniorate, Sta. Isabel, Malolos, Bulacan; St. John the Baptist Catholic School (Parochial School), Calumpit, Bulacan; Immaculate Conception School for Boys (Parochial School), Bambang, Bulacan; OLRC (Parochial School), Sapang Palay, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan; Divine Mercy, Marilao, Bulacan; St. Augustine, Baliuag, Bulacan; Magsaysay Memorial College (Parochial School), San Narciso, Zambales.

On September 18,1999, the congregation mourned the death of Mo. Leonides. She was succeeded by Mo. Elena Contreras, RCM by election who carries at present the task of drafting the congregation's vision-mission and by-laws.
