About the Author

My name is Joel Finnigen. I am from the beautiful island of Jamaica. I am currently in my second year, pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Electronics and Telecommunications at the University of Technology, Jamaica (Utech). The school is located at 237 Old Hope Road in St. Andrew, Jamaica.

The degree programme lasts a total of three years covering six semesters. I hope that by the end of the six semesters I will accomplish my goal of attaining my degree in the above course of study and gain enough knowledge to apply what I have learned.

One of my interests is designing web sites which is evident from this attempt, as this was not a part of the requirement of this project. Another outstanding interest is Photography. I must admit that I do enjoy taking pictures of people and of the beautiful sceneries that nature boasts. I have fused my passion for these two hobbies be designing a web site to showcase my photographs at my web site Scenes of Jamaica. However, to pursue both of these passions I needed a tool that would give me flexibility as well as being economical. I found just that tool, the digital camera. This prompted me to select this topic, Digital Camera Operation and Overview, for my Seminar research and presentation.
