The Gavit Fine Arts
Department subscribes to Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences.
According to his theory, all people possess seven distinct sets of capabilities:
spatial (artists/architects), bodily-kinesthetic (actors/dancers), musical
(performers/critics), linguistic (writers/poets), logical-mathematics
(computer programmers/theatrical producers), interpersonal (sensitivity
to expressions, voice and gestures) and intrapersonal (self-knowledge
and discipline). These intelligence work together, not in isolation. The
Fine Arts Department believes that students need to develop an appreciation
of the aesthetics in life. For without beauty, music and art, life would
indeed be less rich.
