The following list of projects will be carried out at school.

One or more will be repeated on work placement depending on the needs of the employer.

 

 

1.      Company Prospectus

Use our school as the workplace. You may need to speak to teachers that have been at the school for some time. Do you know who they are?

 

2.      Office Documents

Create a floor plan of one of the computer rooms. Create a letterhead that can be used on faxes, letters home to parents etc.

 

3.      Peripheral Acquisition

Choose a printer, scanner, digital camera or other peripheral device that can be used at school.

 

4.      Working Safely and Effectively

Find out who is involved in OH&S committee at school.

 

5.      Workstation Maintenance

The workstations are not only in the computer rooms but in the office, staff rooms and conference rooms.

 

6.      Organisational Documents

Look at the weekly newsletter and other documents produced by the school.

 

7.      Workstation Management

This is an extension of Workstation Maintenance.

 

8.      Workplace Software Application

How does the school order goods? What forms do they use?

 

9.      Hardware and Software Inventory

Serial numbers of monitors, system boxes, mice and keyboards need to be entered on a central database.

 

10.  Website Design and Development

You will need to use Frontpage or WORD to create a page. Do not upload anything about the school or people to the internet unless you have permission from the principal. Privacy is the issue here.

 

11.  Personal Computer Repair and Upgrade

You will be asked to assist in fixing problems on various computers.
