Background

Most businesses need to keep track of resources. Part of those resources include hardware and software. It is appropriate that these resources are recorded for auditing, maintenance and development purposes. To enable easy searching and sorting it is commonplace that these resources would be stored electronically within a commercial computing software package.

 

Requirements

Using an appropriate commercial computing package create a application that could be used to store information about computing equipment and software located within the organisation.  Your application should allow the following information to be recorded:

 

• Type of resource;
• Name of resource, manufacturer and model number or version of the resource;
• Serial number (if appropriate);
• Purchase /acquisition date;
• Current location;
• Number of units.

 

These details are to suitably recorded to allow for easy sorting and searching. Instructions on how to use your application is to be provided.
