Chapter 1 - The Beginning
Chapter 2 - Train Ride
He ran through the corridors, faster than before, he had to get to her, he had too, he found the same choice prepared for him, and he turned right once more, running as fast as he could, the hallway feeling longer than before as he ran.
Harry's dead. It's up to me. Me. I'm the hero. he assured himself, as he ran, and ran, still getting no closer to her.
Her screams were ringing in his ear, she was in pain. She was being tortured. He couldn't bear hearing her screams. It ached in his ear, as his stomach started hurting again. He needed to get to her.
He kept running, the hallway stretching longer. He took out his wand, hardly knowing he had taken it out of his pocket.
"Arculus Soulitus!" he said as he ran, the hallway became small again, he was in front of the door. Her muffled screams filled the hallway as he looked at the door, astonished the spell worked. He smiled. He was here.
He took the doorknob, as he twisted it, he heard an explosion sound from inside the room.
No. Oh my fuckin -
The fire scattered through the hall, making Draco it's first victim. He screamed out in pain. His whole body ached as he felt the hot fire surrounding him as he fell down to the floor.
He heard a voice.
It's her.
Someone kneeled down beside him.
"Draco-"
He woke up from his bedroom floor. It was morning, the sun was shining inside his room.
Dobby! That little fool! I closed those shutters last night. He is dead.
Draco got up, ready to walk down the stairs, as he felt a bad pain in his body as he tried standing.
He gave out a loud painful noise as he tried to get up. His dream came back to him.
It was her - I heard her - she was... who was she? Why am I thinking about this - I'm Draco Malfoy - I can get anyone I want and whoever the hell she is I don't need her anyway. What the hell?
He saw a green glowing ring beside his arm.
What the hell is this? Well, lets find out.
Draco slipped the ring into his pocket just as his mom called him from the stairs.
"Draco, are you ready to go?"
"Ready to go whe-"
Fuck!
He read his clock and quickly slipped on his clothes, calling in Dobby to carry his trunk down with him. Draco knew Dobby was a little house elf, and he knew he couldn't carry them, but just had Dobby do it for the fun of it all. Dobby always hurt himself with the trunk, and for a reason Draco didn't even know, he enjoyed Dobby getting hurt.
To other families, this would sound evil, but the Malfoys' were a different kind of family than any other.
He walked out of the Malfoy Manor with his father, still having an un-expressional remark on his face. Lucuis Malfoy looked at his son, not half as proud at Draco as he should be, Lucuis wasn't proud of Draco. He hadn't gotten any special awards are even a chance to be a seeker or beater in Quidditch his first or second year in Hogwarts. Lucuis had expected more from his son, who had grown up with magic. Lucuis was a stubborn man - he didn't like that Draco had never got anything even though all the funding the Malfoys' do for Hogwarts. He was pissed off.
"Go, Draco." Lucuis said to Draco unsteadily.
Draco lowered his head to get into his father's car. Regularly, Draco would try to convince everyone to let him fly on his broomstick to the train station, even though muggles would see and he'd have a court case, but Draco had gotten caught up in his thoughts.
"Draco!" his father yelled.
"Do you believe you have to scream to get me to hear you?" he remarked as he came out of his trance.
"You know the rules, I suppose?"
"Yes, Lucuis, we went through this, I know what to do."
"And you stay away from that Potter boy."
"I will." he said as he let himself daze off again.
God, please don't tell me after the whole 'no getting expelled or into trouble' is the sex talk.
He looked down inside his pocket, seeing the ring glow brightly.
"Father?"
"Yes, Draco?" Lucuis said stubbornly.
"Do you know anything about a green glowing ring?"
"Why?"
"I just saw it in a magazine article."
"Well, then, it should be the arculus imbarsen."
"What does it do?"
"I don't have time for this, Draco. If you want to find out, find out from one of your teachers. Go on," Lucuis said, as Draco walked out of the car with his luggage in hand.
He walked down between platform 9 and 10, and ran into the middle of them, leading him into platform 9 and 3 quarters, he gave a half smile to himself, walking down to the train.
Finally, out of that dumb house with those dumb people I call family. Finally with other people. And no more worrying about dreams or 'her'. God, being me is great.
Harry ran into the train, going into the seats from the first year where Ron & Harry had sat, and where Harry, Hermione, and Ron sat their second years, and now where them and Ginny would be meeting before the train left off.
Harry sat down next to Hermione, thinking about what had happened during this summer. He had thought it would be much more unexciting then other summers, but it was even more exciting, not to add dangerous.
Hermione looked over at Harry. She thought that something was wrong with him, then assuring herself he was perfectly fine and just overly tired from recent events. She still worried, though. Harry hadn't really been one for talking to Hermione over the summer. He had become distant over the past two months after she admitted that she had liked Harry, all he did was explain to her that he hadn't the same feelings for her as she did for him.
"Harry, are you okay?" Ginny asked, looking worriedly at his tired face.
"Fine, I'm just a little tired."
"Bloody hell, Harry, you look lke a train wreck!" Ron commented as Harry lifted himself up in his seat.
"Ron!" Hermione shouted out. Ron got the point.
"What's wrong, Harry?" asked Hermione, hardly looking at him.
"It's just these dreams, again."
"No attacks in real life anymore?"
"No, it seems that stage is over. But now I have these dreams, and I'm going to go save someone and I fall, and, Malfoy's in it. I can't get anything from it, and it gives me aches all over my body when I wake up. They don't seem to go away."
"Malfoy?" Ron said, hate in his voice.
"I always knew that bloody dumbass would be behind something like this." Ron said.
"We don't know that, Ron, there just dreams." replied Hermione.
"Are you sticking up for Malfoy?" Ron asked, looking with a worried expression at Hermione.
"No, I'm saying we don't know who's doing this. And it might not be him. We've tried blaming it on him before - it doesn't fit anyways, from whats happened, Malfoy couldn't-"
"I think he could." Ginny added.
Ron looked over at her.
"Ginny, your not getting into this." Ron said, looking over at his sister.
"I am already. Malfoy could've done it, he has enough power, I presume." said Ginny.
"Are you saying you think Malfoy has power - " started Ron, until Harry yelled over them, "Stop!"
"Look, Ginny has a point, Hermione has a point, it could be Malfoy, Ron." said Harry, looking straight at Ron even though Harry's eyes felt harder to open.
Ron sat back in his seat. Ginny looked at him. Hermion changed the subject, "So, Ginny, second year, you scared?"
"A little. But I'll be okay." answered Ginny, almost mumbling.
"I'm gonna get on my robe," said Hermione, when it turned silent between the four of them.
She swung on her Gryffindor robe over her clothes, tying it, and sat down as Ginny got up to get her robe, and then Ron and Harry did. Hermione gazed at her window at the beauty of the green grass and trees as the train kept going. She couldn't wait until they got to Hogwarts. She hadn't thought it would be this different with Harry. She thought they'd talk like they regularly did, but they didn't.
Ron sat, staring straight at Hermione. He thought of her, he felt bad for her now. Harry had upset her badly from when he rejected her, even though a nice rejection, it was still rejection, and he knew that Hermione wouldn't ever take that well. He had always known Hermione had a crush on Harry - and knew she was going to tell him - but he never thought it would end with being uncomfortable near eachother. If only she liked her. She wouldn't have rejected her. Actually, Ron had grown on her for the last two years. He liked her frizzy hair, even though a little all over the place, and he liked that she was as clever as she was and that she was sweet. But she would never of noticed him... not without Harry being around. And even thought Harry's still around, Hermione never notices him the way he wants to be noticed. This was just the way it was.
Ginny looked over at Ron.
God, please spare me the love story, she thought to herself, looking at Ron looking at Hermione, and knowing Hermione would like to be looking at Harry. She thought quietly to herself about her second year, thinking of what she'll be able to do if Ron would allow her - she could help them with this - of course, young, naive little Ginny can't do anything! she mimicked what Ron would be thinking if she had asked again to help.
Chapter 3 - Rain
Draco stepped of the Hogwart's train, Crabbe and Goyle following behind him like they were his robots. He walked with his luggage in hand, not smiling, but feeling much better than he had before. He had a powerful ring, friends, a school to show off in, and a school that has girls, too.
God, that train was long. Well, looky here, the four of them walking in front of me. What the hell happened to Potter?
Harry's hair was sticking everywhere, as if an eplosion had went off while he was there.
"Potter, what happened, you trying out for the part of einstein in the muggle's school play?"
"What the hell is that supposed to mean, Malfoy?" said Hermione looking back. Harry grabbed the wrist of her arm, giving Hermione a tingling sensation and chill up her spine, he turned her straight again.
"What it means is it looks like a bomb went off in his hair, mudblood." commented Draco.
"You take that back," Ron and Harry said, pointing there wands at Draco.
"You didn't get enough the last time, Ron, when you did the spell on yourself?" Draco laughed, smiling evily.
"Fuck you, Malfoy."
Draco walked over to Ron, leaning his head over.
"You better watch your step, Weasley, you never know how much power I have," he said, "and tell your little silly sister and silly friends that too. Especially your sister, she seems to have your spirit, and your spirit is only going to help to land you up dead." said Draco, walking past Ron and the group, Ron's face still showing a hateful expression.
Ron pointed his wand at Draco as he walked, "Salitius Apriumo!" he yelled, Draco looking back at him, a shield went up before it hit Draco, covering Draco and his friends from harm. It sped right back to Ron.
Ron ducked at the sight of it. Hermione looking in amazement at Draco.
How could he do that, Hermione said, no witch or wizard can do that. It's impossible, completely and totally impossible.
"What the-" Ron started.
"He can't do that!" shouted Hermione. "It's impossible, Harry."
Harry looked over at Hermione.
"Hermione, this is a magical school of witchcraft and wizardry, anything is possible." answered Harry, stubbornly.
"What is wrong with him?" asked Ginny, serious as they watched him walk from the group.
"I don't know." Hermione answered.
"But something is." added Ron.
Harry walked into his room in Hogwarts, putting down his bag and Hedwig on his shelf. He had went through a dreadful morning with the Dursley's, and felt his stomach ache painfully.
It's these recurring dreams doing this to me. God, damn it! he thought.
Harry felt pain spread throughout his fingertips and legs. His back felt stiff, as if he couldn't move. He couldn't resist closing his eyes, and falling asleep, as pain still lingered in his body.
Hermione, Ron, and Ginny walked through the door to the Gryffindor House Common room, they all sat around on the couches, thinking about Harry.
"Do you think he'll be alright?" asked Ginny, looking over at Ron, and then at Hermione.
"You know, maybe I should go," said Ron, getting up from the couch to go to the boys dorms, "see how he's-"
"No." said Hermione sternly, putting a hand in front of Ron. "He just needs some time, he's been going through a lot."
"Hermione, he needs someone, and it sure as hell can't be you." said Ron back, removing her arm from in front of him, and walking to the dormitory.
"What a fool." Hermione said angrily, crossing her arms.
"He's not a fool, Hermione. Harry needs a friend. Look, I don't know what happened fully, but whatever did, you and Harry should cut it out and talk to eachother again." replied Ginny, picking up her trunk and leaving Hermione to sit alone.
Ginny Weasley walked through a room to her bed, the same as last year.
The same old place, the same old me, the same old everything, she thought, I just wish I'd have someone to talk to about anything other than Harry. 'Harry's so cute, you think I should admit my total and complete obsession that I call loveto him?' she mimicked Hermione, And then, Malfoy, always as aggravating, now maybe even more, and all the whole 'silly little sister', don't I have a name here?! I'm not silly, and I am not little, and I hate all of them. All self conceided, or Harry - conceided, or obsessed with Hermione.
She sat on her bed, starting to unpack her clothes. She removed her red sweater with a 'G' sewed onto it.
Er, and then, 'Oh, Ginny, you'd look so cute in this sweater, why don't you try it on'. I am not a kid anymore!!!!! I am a teenager, I don't deserve to be treated like an idiot. I need to get out of here.
Ginny took the sweater with her as she walked to the door, stopping to throw it out in the garbage before leaving. She stepped out of the room. There was a crowd of students in the common room now. They all were yelling and screaming over eachother happy to be back with their friends.
She sped down the stairs and silently slipped out of the room so no one would bother her. Once she got out, she ran down the hallway, and out of Hogwarts to the quidditch field. She needed air.
She ran out, no one even bothering to notice little Ginny Weasley.
When she got outside she only noticed it was pouring hard once she had gotten to the field, and had sat down on the grass. She didn't mind. She liked the rain. It was better to have rain than to be totally alone. There was no one on the field - or outside for that matter.
Then she heard footsteps from behind her. She didn't bother to see who it was. Probably just another dumb person - or no one at all. She was probably just imagining a sound because of the rain.
She heard the noise again, although she didn't flinch, still thinking she was probably just going insane. She felt someone looking at her from behind, his shadow over her robe. This gave her a sudden fright, that made her jump up from the grass and turn around.
She looked at him, her eyes were blurry with tears, he stood there. He was drenched from head to foot from the rain.
"What are you doing out here?" she asked, looking at him, calming herself down.
"What are you doing out here, Weasley?" he asked, not sounding as angry are snotty as usual.
"I was just thinking," she answered, "Why do you want to know?"
He was about to answer when she said, "Nevermind, I don't care. I need to go."
She passed Draco and started to run back inside.
"Wait!" he yelled before she got away.
"What?" she looked at him coldly, like he had killed her.
"Are you crying?"
Ginny silently gasped, looking down at her feet. She looked up with him. She could see clearly now. He had red cheeks, like he had been running.
"Are you?"
"No." he answered.
"No." she answered back, lying. She started walking away, when he gently tapped her shoulder, "Misery likes company."
He looked in her eyes. He hadn't noticed the brown in them were so genuine.
"You want company?"
"Yeah." he answered.
"Great. Go get some." she said, walking away.
Draco's chest exploded with pain. He cried out. Ginny stopped turning towards him, he had landed on the ground. Ginny ran towards him, falling to the ground beside him, afraid something had happened.
"Draco!!" she yelled, realizing she had just called him by his first name.
Chapter 4 - Breakdown
A green glowing ring fell out from his pocket. Ginny picked it up, and examined it, Draco still lying on the ground.
"Malfoy?" she said, hoping he was breathing. She checked his pulse which showed he was very much alive, his heartbeat was faster than usual, faster she can ever thought a persons heartbeat could be.
"Malfoy!" she said, and she slapped him, trying to get him up.
A coughing sound came from him, and Ginny smiled a little smile, thankful he was still alive.
Why am I thankful he's alive? God, what's wrong with me?!
She hadn't noticed they were holding hands, until Draco removed his hand from hers.
She took her hand back, the rain getting worse as thunder sounded.
"Are you okay?" Ginny asked.
"Yeah." Draco replied, standing up.
"Good." Ginny walked away from Draco, she was away before he could say anything to her.
What the hell just happened? he thought, Was Ginny Weasley of all people holding my hand? Was she worried?
Draco smirked evily, thinking that Ginny fancied him.
Just another girl lost to me. Yes, it is great to be me. Wait til Ron finds out.
Draco smiled even more evily this time.
Harry and Ron walked down the corridor and walked into Proffesor Snape's classroom. It looked almost exactly the same as last year, which Harry and Ron had already figured assuming that it's Snape.
"Okay, everyone, come up here and make a line, I'll sort you into your seats." said Snape.
"Assigned seats - when did this happen?" asked Ron.
"When Snape decided to torture us more than usual." whispered Harry as they added themselves to the line of students.
Snape put everyone together in their seats, Harry was sitting next to Hermione, Crabbe and Goyle next to eachother, and then Snape did something that would ruin the whole school year.
"Table 8, Malfoy," Draco smirked, taking his seat, "and Weasley."
Ron made a dreadful face as he slumped over to table 8 next to his enemy. Hermione and Harry made guilty faces at him, feeling pity that he would have to sit next to Malfoy all year.
Snape finished and started class, as Draco started to think about saying something to Ron.
"So, how's little sis doing?" said Draco.
"Why would you care of all people, Malfoy? I don't want to talk to you."
"I'm just asking because I was worried about her when she was crying last night."
"Ginny wasn't crying, and definitely not in front of you." Ron was getting mad.
"Yes she was, Weasley. When we were outside last night... alone."
The last remark made Ron explode with anger, though he knew he couldn't do anything. He ignored Malfoy, even though he wanted to know what Ginny would be doing with Malfoy, outside, at night, alone. Ron ignored Malfoy the rest of class.
When Snape dismissed class, Ron was about to leave when Draco said, "Just tell her I had fun, and I want to see her again, I'm sure she'd say the same."
This made Ron snap, and Ron punched him in his chest, causing Draco to fall to the floor. The whole class watched in awe at what Ron had just done. Ron opened his mouth, hardly knowing what had just happened. Snape rushed over to Draco, pushing Ron aside.
"You stay here, Mr. Weasley."
Draco lifted himself up from the ground, his chest hurt like hell, making him dizzy.
Hermione and Harry waited by the door for Ron, outside the room.
"What do you think they'll do to him?" asked Hermione.
"It's Snape, he'll get detention until he's a fifth year!" Harry said, hardly being sarcastic.
"Oh, god. This is bad. Did you see how he hit Malfoy like that, I mean, Malfoy must have done-"
"I know, he must have done something to get Ron to react like that. But what?"
"I don't know." Harry said.
Ginny walked from her first class, headed to her next. She kept walking until she saw Ron and Malfoy, looking pretty beaten up walked past. Draco smiled evily at her, with Ron giving her a bit of a frown, although she did not know what for.
"Oh my god, I'm sorry!" Ginny said after Oliver Wood bumped into her.
"I guess your not in a hurry." he said. "That's good to see from first years."
"Oh," Ginny replied, "I'm a second."
"Oh, sorry, I'm always bad with guesses."
"Your the captain of Quidditch team, right?"
"Yeah, Oliver Wood."
He held out his hand and she took it.
"It's nice to meet you. I'm friends with Harry."
"Oh. Well, I guess I'll see you -" he hesitated.
"Ginny, Ginny Weasley." she said.
"Ginny." he finished.
He walked past her leaving it at that, and she whispered to herself, "Goodbye."
Ginny walked into the Gryffindor common room, seeing Hermione, Harry, and Ron sitting at the couches, and, like usual, not noticing her.
"Look, Ginny would never-" Hermione started until Ginny cut in.
"I would never what?" she said, walking down the steps to the common room.
"Er..." started Harry.
"You would never be with Malfoy, at night, in the pouring rain, alone. Right?" asked Ron.
"Umm..." started Ginny.
"You were?!" started Ron.
"Well, I was out there before he was and he snuck up on me and I was out there with him but I left and nothing happened, okay? What you guys finally notice me if Malfoy of all people has something to say?"
"Ginny..." Hermione said.
"No. I don't want to hear it. I don't want to hear any of it - and you know what - guess what? Maybe I should be near Malfoy a little bit more because he could be the only person in this whole world that actually listened when I spoke and noticed unlike you guys who are so wrapped up in other things to notice I'm even here! Let me say it for you guys. Harry, Hermione is in love with you, and you put her down and she's going through a mental breakdown, and Hermione, Ron secretly always liked you although you never noticed it because all you ever think about is Harry! And Harry, your going crazy, your more rude then last year and your torturing Hermione with mind games! I hate you all!! You never hear or see anything even if it could be directly in front of you! Just like I was. Did anyone ever ask my opinion, or ever say anything to me that meant anything special? Did you guys even think that I might be going through something, or hurting? Huh? No. You didn't. You never notice me when I walk in the room. And now that you know how I feel, I think I'm going to leave." she said, silently removing herself from the silent room.
Hermione looked down at her feet, tears rolling down her cheeks. Harry sat up straight, feeling ill, and Ron couldn't move. He was bright red in his cheeks, and he felt just a little bit of pity for Ginny. She was right. They never really noticed her at all.
Chapter 5 - After it All
Ginny ran down the corridors, and ran out the doors, back to the quidditch field, crying histerically as she fell to the ground. It was not raining like the other day but the clouds were gray and there was no sun. She hadn't noticed anyone on the quidditch field until she saw Oliver Wood bend over to see if she was okay.
"Ginny?" he asked worried.
She sniffed.
"Yeah, it's me."
"Are you okay?"
"No."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"No."
The thunder started and a light drizzle came down.
"We better get inside."
"Go ahead. I'm gonna stay out here."
"Are you sure? Rain's gonna come down pretty hard tonight."
"I'm sure. Thanks."
Oliver hesitated before he left Ginny to herself.
"We have to stop meeting like this." his voice echoed behind her as he walked towards her.
She didn't reply to his sarcastic voice, and it was clear she was sobbing to him. He sat down next to her, feeling an urge to hold her, but resisting.
"You too?"
"What the hell are you talking about, Malfoy?" she said angrily.
"I'm not doing well myself."
"That's great for you. You are doing so bad - being rich, having friends. It's a struggle."
She sobbed louder than before as she tried to hold back her tears. He looked into her eyes, they looked a little silver as she cried, he could see the tears drop to the grass and other tears roll down her face. He felt sad for her - even though he tried getting himself back to normal and call her a baby.
"What are you doing here?" she said, looking up at him, her brown eyes sad. He didn't smile at her but stared. She looked at him back, hoping he would stop staring at her like he was.
He silently took her face in his hands, and kissed her gently on the lips. She felt a tingle that went from her lips to her feet as he kissed her. Ginny would never have seen this coming, but she had kissed him back. His hands were as cold as ice from the rain, and his clothes drenched. She felt a rush through her body that left her shivering. She backed away from his lips, thinking what had just happened. She looked at him with surprise in her eyes.
He looked at her with a half smile - not evil - but gentle. A gentle smile she had never seen and never thought she would see on Draco's face. She snapped out of her fantasy, making her shiver again, causing Draco to remove his hand from her face.
"You must be freezing." he said, taking off his coat, when she stood up abruptly looking down at him.
"I'm fine. I'm just fine. I need to go." she said, running back into Hogwarts.
Hermione sat down on Harry's bed, Harry sitting on the other side.
"We need to talk, don't we?" Hermione said.
"Yeah." Harry replied to her question.
"Look," started Harry, "I knew Ron liked you, thats the reason why I was backing off and-"
Hermione cut him off, "I don't love Ron, Harry. I can't see Ron as anything other as a friend." she said.
"I know, but-"
"I love you, Harry."
"We can't do this, what about Ron, I just don't want anything to happen between us when he has those feelings and-"
Hermione leaned in near his face, kissing him deeply. Harry back away, and Hermione frowned.
"Harry, I can't be with Ron. I can't be with Ron when I want to be with you."
"We can't just-"
Hermione kissed him again, this time gently, Harry kissed her back.
Ron stood outside the door, hearing them inside the room. Red had come to his cheeks and tears had formed in his eyes.
Chapter 6 - Through the Darkness
Draco caught up with Ginny, pulling her back to him by her sleeve, and their lips locked once again. Ginny felt guilty for everything she had done, and thought she should only think about what she had ruined. But as Draco kissed her, she felt all her troubles fade away, all the years she spent at home - that she had admitted Ron's love for Hermione, that she had hurt her only real friends at Hogwarts.
She messed up. She shouldn't have done it. And her she was - with Draco. The one person her friends hated the most.
It was her choice - either them or Draco. And it was obvious who she had to pick.
She backed away from Draco, "We can't do this," tears streamed down her face as she choked the words out.
She ran, and she ran until she was up to the Gryffindor common room. It was empty. No one was there. No one but her. Ginny sat on the couch, as she sobbed loudly. She shouldn't have done what she had done. She had ruined her friendships - betrayed her friends, and most of all - she had disappointed and she was sure she also hurt her brother.
Why did I do this?! she asked herself, I screwed up everything in my life in less than thirty minutes. I don't believe I did this.
Harry escaped Hermione's grasp, and backed away from her.
"We can't do this, Hermione."
Hermione silently walked out of his room, slamming the door behind her, and saw Ginny on the couch.
Hermione walked slowly down the stairs, an walked toward Ginny.
"Why'd you say that?" she said softly.
"Say what?"
"Say that Ron loved me." Hermione asked.
"Because he does, Hermione. It's obvious."
"Oh." Hermione said, walking up to the girls dorms. She had nothing else to say.
Ron sat down at the table in the lunch room. He had his face in his hands, covering his red cheeks.
He heard someone walk in and looked up. It was Ginny.
"Ron, look-"
"Ginny, I don't want to speak to you now." he said sternly.
"I didn't mean-"
"You didn't mean to but you did, Ginny, you did."
Ginny sat beside her brother. He had been crying just like her.
"I'm sorry, Ron. I didn't think. I shouldn't have said what I said and I am so sorry for it," tears started to form in Ginny's eyes again, "I love you."
Ron looked up at her, his face red.
"Just leave. Just leave, Ginny." he said.
She walked out of the room away from him. She couldn't do anything else then what she had just done.
Draco fell asleep, his eyes red and his body sticky with water, all he could think about was Ginny, and was thinking about it so much he had forgotten about the dreams and the ring. He was so sidetracked the last few days he had forgotten everything, until the dream had started over again. Ever since he saw Ginny on the quidditch field and he passed out, they came back. And he wondered why.
He ran. He ran as fast as possible down the corridor, turning right and saying, "Arculus Soulitus!", and running down to get her.
He got to the door and opened it, walking into a dark room.
Ginny put her hand in her robes pocket, walking to the Gryffindor room, she felt something inside her pocket and picked it out.
It was the green ring she had taken from Draco the night on the quidditch field.
It glowed brightly in her face. She needed to find out what it was.
"Hello?" Draco's voice echoed as he entered the dark empty room. It was cold, and the fact he couldn't see anything annoyed him. He saw a bright glowing item on the floor. He picked it up. It was a ring, this one not green, but clear. Crystal Clear.
He remembered seeing it before. He had seen it on his dad's night table once.
"What is this?" Draco asked to himself, confused.
He saw something coming towards him through the darkness.
Chapter 7 - Wake Up
Ginny ran down the halls to the Slytherin room. She knocked loudly on it, hoping someone would answer.
She should've remembered this before - she needed to talk to Draco before something bad happened.
"Come on!" she yelled. "Draco!"
Crabbe opened up the door, and crossed his arms at the sight of Ginny.
"Crabbe, okay, look, I need to speak to Draco, now!"
"I'm sorry, Weasley, he's sleeping, and I don't think he needs to be bothered."
Crabbe was about to shut the door before she said, "He could die!"
Crabbe looked at Ginny seriously.
"Your lying."
"No, I am not."
Crabbe opened up the door for Ginny and she ran in, and up to the boys dormitory.
"Draco!" she yelled, not knowing where his room was. "Draco!"
Draco stood up, backing away from the thing coming towards him.
"Draco!" he heard, "Draco!"
He could hear her, she sounded so familiar, but her voice was muffled.
"Let her go." he demanded from the thing coming towards him.
"Let her go!!"
"Draco!" she screamed again, she fell over something on the floor and made a loud painful screech.
She had to find him, it was life or death.
"Draco!"
Draco heard her screams, her painful screams he could hear.
"Let her go!!" he said.
The thing didn't flinch as Draco took out his wand.
"Let her go." he said sternly.
"Draco!"
He heard once again.
The thing took the rock on the floor, and through it down, suddenly a loud explosion came from the dark room, and Draco screamed, fire flooded the room.
"Draco!" he heard again.
"Ginny..." he thought. "I have to save her."
He got the strength to stand up and say "Salvarsius Griuoso!"
The fire turned into water, and he stood up and ran past the 'thing', to the back of the room.
"Draco!"
She had gone through just about every room now, and he was no where to be found.
She was at the last door, as she opened it she found Draco lying on his bed. She gasped as something invisible was ripping his skin apart with a knife.
"Draco!"
"Stop!" she yelled at the demon.
Draco kept running and following her voice.
"Draco!" she yelled.
"Stop!"
He came to a halt.
Where was she?
"Stop!" Ginny yelled again.
She saw a white ring appear on Draco's left side and picked it up quickly, throwing it on her finger, and putting the green ring onto Draco's.
"Draco." she said.
Draco looked up at Ginny, she was a white color, like a goddess in the night sky. Her brown eyes were lit with brightness and silver.
"Ginny." he said, "I found you."
"Wake up, Draco! Wake up!"
"What?"
Ginny pressed her hand against his chest, she pulled her hand through him, and he shot up with light.
Ginny screeched as Draco yelled with pain.
Chapter 8 - Missing
Draco woke up as Ginny pulled at him.
"Draco," she said, looking at his wounds. He was burnt in several places, and the slices the demon made were still there.
"I need to get you help!" she said, running out of the room, and yelling "Crabbe, Goyle! Get Madam Pomfrey - now!"
She ran back to Draco. She had to have saved him - he couldn't die. He couldn't.
She sat next to him, his eyes open, but he couldn't speak. She took his hand in hers. He was shaking violently.
How could this happen? How could he be under this speel? Who could've done this spell? Who would really go as far as to kill Draco? Who would do this? Ginny thought, no ones that evil.
Madam Pomfrey ran into Draco's room, her eyes widened as she saw Draco's burned and slitted body.
"Oh, dear! How did this happen, Ginny?"
She took out healing medicine from the kit she had brang with her and spread it throughout his cuts.
"Ginny, I think it's best if you go." she said.
Ginny slipped her hand out of his, and left the room.
She walked down into the quidditch field, feeling lonely. Who would put the spell on him, it was a guaranteed death to Draco. No one would do that although Draco has mamed and tortured with his words and actions.
She saw Oliver and Harry practicing Quidditch, flying over her like birds. She smiled for a moment. It was nice to see him again. The night before going as it did. It was a beautiful morning now. She wondered where Ron was. She was worried about him so much.
"Ginny!" Harry said as he came down, "Is Ron with you?"
"Ron, with me, after what I said? Harry, I don't think so."
"Then where is he?"
"I don't know, I found him in the cafeteria last night, thats the last time I saw him."
Draco awoke in the hospital wing of Hogwarts, the sun shining through the window beside the bed he was lying on. Madam Pomfrey slowly walked in, a glass of water and two blue and red pills in her hand.
"Finally awake, Mr.Malfoy, ay? How are you feeling?"
"Fine. Where am I?"
"In the hospital wing. You don't remember?"
Draco's confused face gave her a 'no' remark, but Draco still replied, "Well, yeah. Well, not exactly. All I remember is going to sleep, and somehow I landed up here."
"Okay, Malfoy, take these pills for your head and to mend your cuts." she said, giving the pills and water to Malfoy, and then she walked out of the room, passing Ginny on her way out. Ginny walked in to see Malfoy sitting up in bed, about choking on his pills.
"Are you okay?" she asked, stepping towards the side of his bed. He immediately stopped as he saw Ginny sit beside him.
What the hell does Weasley think she's doing?
"Okay, Weasley, when the hell did you get so friendly?"
"Draco-"
"Draco, you've never called me Draco. Go you little girl. Why the bloody hell are you here anyway?"
"You mean-"
"I mean what, Weasley, ay? Just get the hell out, I never want to see you, or your little snot nose friends either." A sneer came to Malfoy's face as Ginny backed out, not running until out the door.
"Dumb, Weasleys'." Draco remarked, laying back on the bed.
Ginny slowed down as she got to the Gryffindor room, and immediately ran up the stairs to her room.
What happened to him? she thought, looking down at the white ring on her finger. What happened to Draco? I can't believe he would- he wouldn't, he has to have an explanation for this.
Hermione walked down the corridors to the Gryffindor room. She had an idea were Ron was.
"Ouch!" she said, bumping into someone, she picked up her books and raised her head to see no other but Malfoy, a sneer on his face, Crabbe and Goyle in back of him.
"Granger."
"Malfoy. How nice to see you up and awake."
"Oh, how nice to see you awake too, if I had just run into you and not Crabbe and Goyle, I would've thought I had died and went to hell, Granger."
"You know what, Malfoy, maybe I should've gotten to Ginny before she decided to save your life, you asshole." she replied sternly, walking past Malfoy and his lackies.
Malfoy stood in awe. That's why she acted like that. She saved him? Little Ginny Weasley saved Draco Malfoy?
"Come on." he led Crabbe and Goyle down the corridors again.
Hermione ran into the Gryffindor common room, seeing Harry on the couch, a worried look across his face, and Oliver Wood looking through some of Ron's stuff to find a clue to where Ron had gone off to.
"I know." Hermione announced, running through the door and down the steps to where they were sitting.
"I know where Ron could be. Look, Harry." she held out a book in her arms, pointing to a picture with a paragraph underneath it.
"Your right." Harry looked at Oliver, asking him if he wanted to come with them.
"I'll go, but this better be quick." he answered rising off the couch, putting down one of Ron's books.
Just then, Ginny walked out of her room.
"Where are you going?"
"To find your brother." answered Oliver, looking back at her as she ran down the steps to get to the common room.
"I can help."
Harry turned back to Ginny, "No, Ginny. Ron wouldn't have wanted you-"
"I can help, Harry. He's my brother." she said harshly, and rather abruptly.
"She's right, Harry. She knows more about him than any of us. She could possibly help find him." Hermione said, beside Harry.
Ginny looked at Harry, waiting for his response.
"Come on, Ginny." he said hesitantly.
Ginny ran down the steps, catching up to the group next to Oliver as they walked out.
They walked through the corridors full of Hogwarts students, and out into the sunny day.
"So, where do we think he is?" asked Oliver.
Chapter 9 - The Truth
Ron stepped through the old vines and past the trees of the long forest.
The branches and bark of the trees were torn off or covered with moss. Ron stepped through, knowing he will be were he should soon enough. The sky was closed out by the trees, but Ron could see sun shining through. He didn't think it was right for the sun to be shining when he was so sad and upset.
He ran through the forest fast, trying to get to his destination. He stopped a little after a while of running. He had remembered to bring water, thankfully, and he could refill the bottle thanks to Hermione's spell she had taught to him last year, but he was still tired, and didn't think he should rest on the floor of the dirty forest. He didn't know what kind of magic could happen if he slept. So he kept running, he would be there soon.
"You really think Ron would be there?" asked Oliver.
"Yes, but Harry, you do know what comes before that, don't you? He has to get past the Minourical Forest. Do you know how many spells and incantations that could harm him if he tried to get past that place walking? It's hardly safe passing that place flying on a broomstick!" exclaimed Hermione.
Ginny gasped in reply, "Maybe we could get him out of there with a spell, before he gets hurt if we can't find him." she said.
"We can't, Gin," answered Harry, "That forest has been cursed to many times to let anyone remove anything out of it. We learned about it in Defense of Dark Arts - so it must be bad."
"Wait, didn't you hear what our sub said that day?" Hermione said.
"No." Harry replied.
"She said that the only way to remove anything is with the arculus imbarsen."
"Arculus imbarsen? The ring? They're rare, not even rare, there's only one of them, and then theres its sister the arculus imbarsena. There's only one made of each. And it's known be a myth, nobody has ever really seen the ring in decades." Oliver added.
"Malfoy." whispered Ginny.
"What?"
"Malfoy has the ring, I saw it. It's green and glowing."
"Yeah." Hermione said in amazement, "How did he get his hands on something like that?" she looked over at Harry.
"Look, I don't know, but we need to get it from him."
"How?" Hermione asked.
"Ginny?" Harry asked hopefully.
"No. I was wrong. Were not together or anything, Harry. He hates me now."
"Your our only hope." Harry added.
"I can't-"
"For Ron, Ginny." Hermione assured her.
"I can try, but I don't think he'll listen."
"Make him listen." said Hermione angrily by the thought of Malfoy.
"I'll try." Ginny said quietly, walking away from the group silently, not wanting to see Draco, because of his rudeness earlier that day. This was the first day since they arrived at Hogwarts it was not raining, and of course it should be the day it should be raining - for it was the worst day of Ginny's life. His brother furious at her, her friends not exactly as fond of her as they used too, and not even having Draco to talk to anymore. She felt like she had no one.
Draco Malfoy stepped out of the Slytherin common room and into strangely empty corridors. There usually would be many teachers walking around, and many students, but it was oddly barren, reminding him of the one he had seen in his dreams. He looked up, seeing a girl walking towards him. She wasn't far back, but he couldn't see her well, although, since he got pretty beaten up none of his body eyes or anything really worked well, everything in his body ached, though he wouldn't act as if it hurt in front of anyone.
Ginny breathed in a deep breath, seeing Draco down the hall, staring straight at her. She wasn't sure if he knew it was her or not by his expression.
"Draco..." she said as she walked up, face to face with him, "Can I talk to you?"
He walked past her.
"Draco!" she said sternly, making him turn towards her.
"Weasley, what the hell is your problem? I thought we were enemies and now you wanna make with the friendly? Sorry, I don't make friends with outcasts."
He started walking again until Ginny said, "I know about your dreams."
He turned towards her once more.
"How?" he asked, a sneer still on his face.
"I was in it - I saved you Draco."
"Why the bloody hell do you keep calling me Draco? And how the hell did you save me?"
Draco Malfoy walked up to Ginny, face to face, leaning in as if bullying her to tell him something.
"Huh?" he asked again, an evil smirk glowing on his face he said, "That's what I thought."
"It was the ring." she said.
"The what?"
"The ring... the green one, that you had, I need it."
"And you think I'd give it to you? Let you go all wacko again and open up another chamber of secrets?"
"It's not for that, Draco. It's for Ron."
Draco laughed.
"He could die, Draco. That ring is the only possible way I can save him."
"Hmm... so, should I give it to you, let me think. No."
"I should've let you die when I had the chance."
Draco looked back, a dead serious look on his face.
"Draco, that ring is more powerful than anything in this world. It saved you, it helped me save you. If you don't believe me," she said, she took out the white ring she had taken, "look, I have the matching ring. I had to wear it to get into your dreams so you wouldn't get to-"
"Get to what?"
"The girl you were searching for in your dream, Draco, she wasn't there. I don't know who this girl was, but you were looking for her, and I transferred my body into your dream to get you out of there until you got to-" she abruptly stopped.
"To where?" he asked, stepping closer to Ginny.
"The dreams you had are called Desirious Rependium. It's not a dream that just comes. Somebody with Malfoy blood had to curse you with it. The rings that kept appearing once you woke up - I can't explain them yet, but somebody must have wanted to help you. I'm sorry, Draco. I transferred myself into your dream to save you from getting to the end of the dream. The Desirious Rependium is a type of curse that kills another. It doesn't stop til it does, and wherever you were, it was slicing you up pretty bad. I had to transfer you out with the white ring, its the only thing that can control the green one."
"We need the green ring because Ron ran off to the Minourical Forest, and thats the only way to get him out safely. Please, Draco." she pleaded.
He looked at her, all the evil had vanished from his face. He took off the ring from his index finger, and handed it to Ginny.
"Thank you." she said gently, almost surprised Draco gave it to her.
"Go." he said, looking down at his feet, she hesitated a moment, and then ran down the empty corridor, down the stairs, and out of Hogwarts. She ran to the Quidditch field, almost tripping over herself.
Chapter 10 - Had she?
"Did you get it?" Hermione asked, spotting Ginny running towards them.
"Yeah, it's right here," Ginny replied, holding out the arculus imbarsen in front of her. It glowed brightly, as the sun was being blocked out by the little clouds gathering close to it.
"We better do this fast." Oliver commented, swearing he could hear thunder coming towards them.
"It doesn't matter. The rain won't effect the spell at all." Hermione sat down on the grass.
"Come on," she said, "sit down in a circle."
Oliver sat next to Hermione, who sat next to Harry, who sat next to Ginny. They held hands tightly, the ring in the middle of their circle. It was glowing even more brightly then the night Ginny had saved Draco. It seemed so much farther away then just yesterday.
Only studying next to Hermione that night she remembered. She was looking through a variety of books, Hermione sitting next to her silently. Not exactly mad at her, but not thankful that she had displayed her feelings for Harry to Harry himself. Other than Hermione no one probably knew about Ginny saving Draco's life. Ginny had finally found the book in the library marked 'The Rarest Magical Rings & Necklaces in the Wizarding World', it showed a picture of the green glowing ring she had in her pocket, after taking it from Malfoy. She still remembered the exact words of the book, she had read them a few times before coming to a conclusion:
The arculus imbarsen is a one of a kind ring given to a person(s) to take away a death curse called Desirious Rependium, a serious and rare curse made to only pure blood families. The arculus imbarsen also helps to transfer people from one place to another and protect the person wearing or holding the ring. The ring has never been found or seen since April, 14, 1968, when a powerful wizard named Karim Noclluios used it to transfer himself into the Lacentah Canastra, known to be a myth, this place is behind the Minourical Forest, a most magical place that...
Ginny had noticed someone had ripped off the end of the page, and had then decided what to do. She had ran up to get to Draco.
"Ginny?" Hermione asked, almost shouting.
"Finally, is something wrong?" Hermione asked.
"No, I was just daydreaming."
"Ok, well, let's start."
Draco sat in his room, looking out at the dark gray sky over head, it was going to start raining any second now. It hadn't stopped raining since he had arrived at Hogwarts, which was odd, noting that in November it should be a nice cool breeze outside. The rain had delayed quidditch practices, and the first quidditch game of the year, which should have been yesterday between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.
He looked in his mirror, lifting himself from his bed, and slowly taking off his shirt to find no other but scars and unhealed scratches all over his chest.
There was red spots all over his chest, along with minor burns on his back. The pain ached through him. It made him unsteady while walking, and he could hardly lay down on either side of his body without screaming from the pain.
The actions from the past few days had come back to him now. He remembered kissing Ginny, and most of his dream, although not seeing Ginny appear in his mind while he thought about his dream, he waited to remember her being there. He looked out his window again, putting his shirt back on over his scarred body.
The truth was, Ginny had become a part of him for some reason. He felt a need for her. His heart ached everytime he saw her or heard her name. He regreted saying all the nasty, cruel things he had said to her and towards her. But he couldn't seperate himself from what he had done. He couldn't make it stop, his feelings pulsing through his painful body. He didn't know how to at all... but he had taken what he had hated, and made it into a part of him.
He stared, looking down as he spotted four people sitting in a circle on the quidditch field. He only found one red head, which assured him for some reason, that Ginny had told him the truth.
He didn't know who to trust anymore - but for some reason he trusted Ginny.
Hermione positioned herself to look straight into the glowing ring.
"Okay," she nodded at them, all of them nodding back at her as a sign that they were ready.
Hermione closed her eyes gently, taking a deep breath before she started.
She then opened them back up, looking down at the book in front of her.
"Noctra protestana, loso basantan forsen saward sain lorine. Loso basantan forsen saward sain lorine." she repeated this over atleast for times until a large blast of light came from the ring, throwing Ginny, Harry, Oliver, and Hermione in different directions, parting their hands rapidly.
Hermione gasped a breath, and then began coughing, raising herself up to see what had happened.
"Where is he?" said Ginny, getting to her feet, walking slowly to the ring. It was glowing brightly as if the sun was in front of her.
"Hermione?" Harry asked. "Where's Hermione?"
A worried expression came over Harry's face. He needed to find her.
Oliver got up on his feet quickly, running towards Harry, handing him his hand to get up. Harry took it, standing up rather unsteadily but able to walk, atleast.
Ginny looked around, trying to find Hermione somewhere out in the field, although she couldn't spot Hermione anywhere.
"Harry," started Hermione, getting to her feet, "Ginny? Oliver?"
She looked around, not feeling she was in familiar territory. She saw a forest in front of her. She gasped. She was where Ron was... she was in the forest.
How could this happen? she thought, How could I be here?
Hermione heard a loud masculine scream coming from straight in front of her, she ran to find Ron, but tripped over a trees root, she quickly got up and ran faster. She jumped over all the traps she had learned about and frequently started taking out her wand to take a curse off. She couldn't find Ron anywhere.
"Ron!" she yelled once more.
"Ron!"
She stopped suddenly at the sight of a hole. She gasped.
That was close, she thought.
She jumped up on one of the tree branches, swinging on it, and then jumping off once she could get past the hole safely.
"Hermione!" Oliver yelled. He was on the left side of the field, looking for Hermione. She wasn't anywhere to be found. It was useless, they could never find her anymore, not now that they don't have an idea in the whole world where she could've gone.
Harry looked down at the ring, and then crouched down next to the book Hermione was reading from. He held the page they were on with his thumb as he looked at the book's title.
'Transporting objects or humans' it read. He looked up to the page she read from, and read the paragraph before the spell.
"Guys!!" he yelled, not looking from the book, but yelling loud enough so Ginny and Oliver ran towards him.
"What?" Ginny asked, out of breath from running.
"She's with Ron. In the forest. This spell... it doesn't transport Ron to us, it transports the person doing the spell to Ron."
"What? But Hermione said..." Ginny started.
"She was wrong." Harry said.
"Harry's right, Ginny. Hermione must have not read right." Oliver added, "How do we get her back?"
Hermione ran past the trees covered with moss, "Ron!" she yelled, and then stopped, taking a breath.
She heard a voice calling to her.
She slowly raised her head, running to the voice, faster and faster. It was Ron's voice.
"Hermione!"
She heard again, running as fast as she could, she got to Ron. He was covered in vines and roots from trees. Hermione gasped, the roots started wrapping around her legs. Hermione quickly took out her wand and said, "Tu La Erisant Hertino!"
She then pointed to hers, but had wrapped her hands before she could. Ron looked at her with a scared face.
"Ron, come on, you can do it."
Ron took out his wand.
"Just say, Tu La Erisant Hertino." she said calmly, the strong vines coming up to her neck.
Ron pointed his wand at the vines and repeated Hermione's spell. A spark came from his wand, causing the vines to remove themselves from Hermione's body.
Hermione took a deep breath, stretching out her hands.
"Good, where all alive so I'll get to the point. Why the hell are you here? Do you know you could've gotten yourself killed? You would've if I hadn't come along!"
"Hermione, if I wanted a pep talk I would've went to my mom."
"Ehh," Hermione screeched at him.
"Why are you even here?"
"Cause you were getting yourself killed so I came to help you. Well, not exactly. See, you were supposed to come to me instead of me coming to you. Look, if you stop walking then Harry-"
Ron cut her off, "Oh yeah, it's always Harry, isn't it, Hermione?"
Hermione's face changed to a darker expression.
"No, it is not, Ron. Look, you are basically committing suicide if you walk any farther into this forest."
"Too bad." he said, walking past her.
"Too bad?" Hermione yelled, following after him, "Too bad? Ron, stop!"
She gripped his sleeve and turned him around straight towards her.
"Don't do this! Your going to hurt yourself."
"And like I care." Ron answered.
"You don't even know where exactly your going to!" she shouted.
"I do, too." Ron said, lying, "I'm going-"
He hesitated a moment.
"I'm going forward!" he said, he turned back around before Hermione appeared in front of him.
"Don't do this, Ron!"
Ron looked at Hermione unpatiently.
"Think about Ginny!" she said as a last resort.
"Ginny? She's okay?" he snapped out of it, "No, your not gonna get me out of here with mind games, Hermione."
"Stop!" she stood in front of Ron.
"You can't do this." she said.
"Yes, I can."
"No, you can't!"
"Yes, I can!"
"No, you-"
Hermione gently kissed Ron on the lips, bringing her arms around his neck. She could feel Ron trying to get himself to push her away - but not being able to. The kiss lasted only a couple of a seconds - though to Hermione it lasted her whole life. It felt wierd to kiss someone - and actually get kissed back. Harry had never exactly kissed her when she kissed him - but Ron did.
He backed away from Hermione, suddenly feeling he could breathe again.
"What was that-"
Hermione kissed him again.
"Okay, so what do we have to do?" Ginny asked, Oliver positioning himself in front of the ring, just like Hermione had.
"First off, I guess I'll need your ring." he said.
She carefully took it off her pinky finger and handed it to Oliver as she sat down on the opposite side to Harry.
"Okay, this is how it goes. This a tricky spell - but hopefully it'll do okay. Now, the white ring controls the green one so obviously if I get to Hermione and Ron I can call on the green ring to let us come back - and everyone returns safely."
Oliver tried to squeeze the ring on his finger. Ginny laughed as he struggled to fit it on his finger.
"Oh, yeah, laugh it off." he said, humourously. Ginny giggled now.
"Try your pinky finger." she said.
He tried, it fit almost perfectly, as if it was made for him.
"Ready?" he asked, Ginny and Harry nodding at him, they all put their hands together and Oliver started the spell, "Noctra protestana, loso basantan forsen saward sain lorine. Loso basantan forsen saward sain lorine. Noctra protestana, loso basantan forsen saward sain lorine. Loso basantan forsen saward sain lorine." he kept on until another flash had come from the green ring, this one stronger then the last.
When Harry and Ginny had stood up, Oliver was gone.
Oliver Wood landed in the damp dark forest. He got to his feet, walking slowly, making sure he wasn't falling into any traps.
He could swear he heard Hermione and Ron far off to his left, but kept along the forests trail, not wanting to get lost.
Once he cam along the vine trap, he noticed the vines on the trees were burnt off on their ends.
He kept going straight. He got to a small clearing from the trees, seeing nothing other than Ron and Hermione kissing.
Oliver smiled, almost laughing.
"You guys ever stopping?"
Hermione gasped and pushed herself away from Ron, seeing Oliver just a few steps in back of them.
"Oh, hi." Hermione smiled, embarrassed.
"Come on, we gotta get out of here."
"How?" Hermione asked.
"The ring," he answered showing the white ring on his finger.
"Okay, hold hands," Oliver said, and then said the spell over again, "Noctra protestana, loso basantan forsen saward sain lorine. Loso basantan forsen saward sain lorine."
An abrupt flash of light flashed from the ring on Oliver's finger, and they all fell onto the quidditch field.
"Finally!" Ginny said, helping up Ron.
"What were you thinking?" Ginny said, Ron smiling although he knew how mad Ginny was.
"It's just happy to know your still alive." Harry smiled.
Ginny knocked on the Slytherin's door. Draco Malfoy opened it slowly, not a sneer on his face but not a smile.
"Hi." Ginny whispered, "Can we talk?"
It was late at night by this time, and she had snuck out of the common room to see him.
Draco stepped out of the room, and shut the door easily.
"What?" he said, unhappily.
"I just wanted to give you these." she said.
"Keep them," he answered back to her.
She looked at him, "Are you sure?"
"Perfectly." he said, turning back to the Slytherin room, until Ginny caught his sleeve and turned him to face toward her.
And she kissed him... it didn't feel right to Ginny because of the fact she was betraying her family if she ever kissed a Malfoy, but for some reason she couldn't stop. She didn't know why she liked Draco so much, although he had a certain sense of charm and he was attractive, she had to think of him. She hadn't fell in love with Draco... had she?
Part 11 - Disturbingly Sour
Time, why must it fly so slow
Waiting, is something that's easy for you
Pull the plug, send it down the drain
Pain is easy to get used to
What's in me, is in you
What's got me, has got you
And everything told, must come true
Pretending to be real, forgetting who you are
Sin, is always at my door
Slice the vein, blood spilled on the floor
Light shining in my eyes
Death greets me with a smile
Pain
So much pain
Pain
So much pain
"Harry, do you think Hermione would go to the dance with me?" Ron looked up near the firplace.
"Well, I guess. Why wouldn't she?"
"I'm just not sure if she really likes me or se just kissed me to stop me from going any further."
"What do you think it is?"
"Well, I'm not sure. I mean, this is Hermione. You can't read her expressions well."
"Can we talk about this later Ron," Harry asked, standing up and walking to his room, "I'm getting tired."
"Sure." Ron sighed, standing up and walking with Harry up to the rooms.
Hermione gazed at the wall, wondering when Ginny was coming back. She had been gone for atleast 10 minutes now, and Hermione wasn't a very patient person.
She sighed to herself, thinking about what she was going to wear for the dance tommorrow night. Hermione had already made the decision a week before that she wasn't going to go to a stupid dance with all those stupid happy couples because they had something she couldn't have. But ever since she had kissed Ron it had given her a confidence to go, with Ron of course, Hermione could be one of those happy couples.
She looked down on Ginny's bed, she had heard loud music while talking to Ginny but hadn't noticed Ginny's cd player out. Hermione took the headphones and put it over her head. A loud rock song was playing, Hermione didn't seem disturbed by the loud sound when she first put them on, but it had woke her up more than she needed to be woken up.
She put them back down on Ginny's bed, and then stood up, her ears still hurting from the headphones.
"Draco!" Ginny yelled, stopping short as she saw two faces staring back at her. She stopped right in front of Draco, even though she didn't mean to.
There wasn't much of a sneer on his face as usual, but it wasn't as invisble for Ginny not to notice. She looked at Lucius, his face stern and strict, looking as if he hated her so much he would strangle her if she moved again.
"Umm... Draco..." Ginny was speechless, she hadn't planned what to say to keep him from leaving. She suddenly felt guilt rushing into her from giving him the green ring, she hadn't wanted to control Draco at all, she just wanted to protect him... keep him safe.
Draco grinned at her, as if he was expecting to see her again before he left. His smirk quickly turned into a full sneer - the one he had always given her while teasing her because of her family. She had grown fond of the sneer on Draco's face, because, even though she didn't want to admit it, it fit him well.
"Yes?" he said, anticipating Ginny to attempt to stop him from leaving.
"Your leaving?" Ginny said it as if not a question, and tried not to frown, tried not to show Draco she was sad he had to go so soon.
"Yeah, so?"
"Well, I mean..." Ginny started, "we only have three months left at Hogwarts, why would you leave?"
Lucuis smirked at Ginny before saying, "We must go, Draco."
Lucuis started walking, Draco still looking Ginny in the eye.
"You can't go..." she whispered.
"I'm sorry." he said, and he started walking himself. Ginny followed him.
"Draco, please... why are you leaving?" she pleaded.
"Ginny, just get out of my way."
Ginny stopped, "What the bloody hell did you just say?"
"I said let me go." he said even more evil the before.
"Look, you go with your father and you die." she said.
"Why would you ever care anyway?"
She kissed him, once again she felt her stomach turn, her hands placing themselves around Draco's neck.
She pushed herself away, looking at him.
"Draco!" Lucuis said, "Come on!" Lucuis had not seen the kiss, but was getting mad Draco would even think of associating with poor witches or wizards, had he raised his son so poorly?
"No." Draco said, a normal voice.
"What?"
"I said no. I want to stay here."
"You are not-"
"Let me stay." Draco looked up at his father.
Hermione walked down to the Gryffindor common room, expecting to see Harry and Ron chatting about the dance, but once she had gotten down to the common room, no one was there.
Hermione flopped herself down on the couch. Why now does everyone decide to sleep? she thought.
"I am not letting you stay, Draco," Lucius's voice rang out with anger, that made Ginny flinch as he said it to his son.
"Now, come." Lucuis looked at Ginny again, this time more with a sneer on his face like Draco did. Except, when Lucuis did the sneer he looked even more evil then Draco did, and this gave her a chill down her spine. Draco looked back at Ginny.
"Sorry." he said. And he followed his father. Was this it? Ginny thought. Just like that??
Ginny looked down at her ring. She could control Draco's every move. She could keep him hear.
"Loso snatum..." she whispered, not noticing words had come out of her mouth. The ring glowed brightly, Ginny still staring at it.
Lucuis looked back at her, seeing the ring glow. The glowing was so bright it filled the whole corridor with light. Draco looked back at her, confused. He didn't know what she was doing, but it didn't look to safe.
Part 12 - All Over Again
Should I have a taste of this
Run across your lips
And start all over again
Could this all just be a dream
If I should fall to stormy weather,
Wake Me, Wake Me
Maybe this time I can do it all right
Without my foot in my mouth
Without that blind in my sight
Could this all just be a dream...
Too scared to lose the one
I tried so hard far
Too scared to lose the one
I never had
"Harry, Ron!" Hermione called, running back into the Gryffindor room.
"What?" Ron sat up in his bed, looking as if he hadn't slept in days.
Harry sat up, looking at Hermione with a confused look on his face.
"What is it, Hermione?"
"It's Ginny, out in the hall! She's doing something!"
Ron and Harry looked at eachother for only a second, and then quickly got up from their beds and then ran through the common room and out the door. They saw a flash of light, causing them both to put their hand over their eyes.
"Come on!" Hermione demanded, running through the light.
Ron and Harry followed, still making sure the light didn't blind them.
Hermione ran through the light caused by Ginny's ring. Ginny stood in front of her, her back facing Hermione. The light stopped, even though instead of the light going into the ring again, the light took Ginny and Draco with it, consuming them both in the small ring. Hermione fell to her knees and picked up the ring, looking straight into it. All the light that had once glowed from it was gone.
"Oliver!" Hermione yelled, running into his room. "Oliver!" she shook him violently, and Oliver sat up in his bed to see no other but Hermione, Harry, and Ron standing on his left side.
"What is it?" Oliver sounded stubborn as he got out of his bed. "What's all this fuss? People around here like to get sleep, you know!"
"Sorry..." Hermione started, "But we need your help. The ring took Malfoy and Ginny!"
"What?" Oliver was confused looking at Hermione.
"It took Draco and Ginny - there IN the ring!"
"That can't be possible." Oliver looked astonished, "The rings can't do that. I mean... well... Professor Quirrell once mentioned that the ring could help people survive and transport by spells, but he never said that it would just take people."
"What?" Hermione said, her eyes widening, "It could help people survive?"
"Well, yes, how do you think it saved Malfoy?"
"It could help anyone?"
"Yes."
"What if its Voldemort?"
Ron looked shocked, feeling his stomach turn.
"I mean... he's not in any form, he needs something to survive, doesn't he?"
"I don't know. Maybe it's not. Why would he want Ginny and Malfoy? It wouldn't make sense."
Ginny awoke in a dirty and rusted cell. It was dark except for a candle that was sitting behind the bars, bringing just a bit of light to the dark cell. Ginny's red hair was now dark and gray from dust. She lifted her self up a little with her hand, looking at the stone floor. It was cracked in many places and it looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in ages.
She didn't exactly remember where she was, are what had happened. For some reason it had all been a blur to her. She remembered trying to stop Draco from leaving, and she remembered light.
Light! she thought, looking down at her hand. But the ring was no longer there. She suspected whoever put her here had taken it. This meant she couldn't find Draco. Not at all.
She heard a noise from the far left of the cell, and she carefully walked further into the dark cell, trying to follow the noise. She then heard feet, and stepped back a little. She realized the footsteps were coming towards her, and she silently ran back to were she had woke up.
Ginny was frightened this time. She had no idea were she was, nor who was coming at her. But she needed to get out. She looked for her wand in her pocket, but nothing was there. She had no wand and no tools toprotect herself... she was all alone.
"Ginny, are you looking for something?" the voice was plain, and somehow sounded cruel to her ears.
Part 13 - Love Sprung from Hate
She looked over, gasping, and saw her wand next to his feet.
"Draco!" she ran over to him, and hugged him tightly, glad she wasn't alone.
"Are you okay? What happened?" Ginny had so may questions going through her head, her hands tightly held onto Draco's wrists.
Draco had a painful expression on his face, and Ginny suddenly stopped asking, and put on a worried face, her face was pale, and looked as if she had just been visited by her own ghost.
She knew something was really wrong.
"Look... where are we?" she steadied herself as Draco sat on the ground.
He looked up at her, with not a smirk nor sneer, but a plain face. Ginny couldn't read his expressions as easily as before. She knew he wanted to hide something from her.
"Draco, talk to me!" she became irritable, Draco looking up at her. "What's happening?"
"It's Voldemort." he said.
"It was the ring all along! I'm sure of it! Draco's father... he was in contact with the dark lord! He set aside those rings for Draco to find!"
"He couldn't... I mean, that would mean saving Draco!"
"That's the point... his father didn't curse him - the only reason he gave his son the rings was to-" Hermione thought for a second, contemplating the reason.
"Was to what?" Ron asked.
"Was to lead Harry there..."
"It's the only possible reason! It all fits... Draco and Ginny are their bait! Their bait to get to Harry. I don't think they meant Draco to go though..."
"That doesn't make sense, Hermione. Think about it. Why would I ever go for Draco? I mean, Ginny is another story but they couldn't know Ginny and Draco were going to become close."
"Yes they did! Theres magical spells and tools to see the future - or manipulate the future. They could've set this up themselves!"
"No, Hermione, I refuse to believe that. It's to simple. Or it's to wierd."
"Look, she could have a point. But even if they are the bait, what the hell will happen to them if we don't try to save them?"
"So were going?"
"Yeah." Oliver answered.
"Voldemort?!" Ginny screamed, "Voldemort! Why would Voldemort want us?"
Ginny paced around the room inpatiently.
She let out a screech, and kept walking. Draco sat in the corner watching Ginny.
"Are you going to walk around like that all day?" Draco seemed annoyed that Ginny kept moving around, it had started making him so dizzy he felt nauseus.
"Are you going to sit there all day? We should do something! We have to do something," she explained, crossing her arms, still pacing.
"What are we going to do? Theres no way out, this is my father and Voldemort, I mean, what, we just going to walk right out of here?"
"You being sarcastic, and not to mention snotty, is not helping, Draco!" she stared at him longingly, a sarcastic expression across her face, along with a smile from a day ago replaced with a frown, and her colorful face, with her red cheeks had dissapeared into a pale white face as if she was a ghost.
"You know, we could atleast try."
"And then when they catch us they'll decide to torture us even more."
"Look, Draco Malfoy, I don't feel like arguing with you right at this minute, but look, see, some of us have what we call friends and an actual unfucked up family to go home too. Therefore, lets figure out a way to get out of here." Ginny stopped, not showing any remorse for what she just said to Draco. She was frustrated to the ending point. She needed to get out.
Draco looked up at her, a sneer rising on his face as he watched Ginny. He suddenly felt the evil in him rising. He hated Ginny Weasley. He hated the trio. Why the hell was he here? All because of them. Bloody hell... he hated them. He loathed them. He had been taught to hurt them. And he should've went with it. Why didn't he? Because of her? The girl who just rudely commented on his family, even though they were as screwed up as she said them to be? The girl who hates his guts? That girl is not his, that girl is playing with him. That girl, Weasley. That girl, he knew, that girl would cause him trouble. Then why did he kiss her? He hated Ginny Weasley. He hated her.
Part 14 - Sickness
Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you, tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart
Tell me your secrets, and ask me your questions
Oh let's go back to the start
Running in circles, coming up tails
Heads on a science apart
Nobody said it was easy
Oh it's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said that it would be this hard
Oh take me back to the start
The rain poured noisely into the mud. The forest was wet and damp, the leaves on trees swaying back and forth, rain drowning them. Oliver sighed, looking up at the sky, they had been there for over an hour now, walking to the L'Endroit de Mort. It was no where to be found. In french translation, the L'Endroit de Mort was a place of death; a place of most painful deaths. People were known to be tortured there - and thats where Ginny and Draco where. Ginny and Draco could be getting tortured this very minute. The thought made him want to loose his mind. And through all the running and walking, and short breaks to catch their breath, they couldn't find it all. It was as if it was missing. Oliver knew it wouldn't be as easy as walking to it. But he couldn't find any other way to get to it.
Hermione walked in front of him, her Gryffindor robe shielding her head from the cold rain pouring onto her. Oliver somehow tolerated the cold rain. He was used to rain, and somehow he actually thought of rain as nice and calming without thunder or lightning. The rain had come to a soft drizzle. It was twelve o'clock in the afternoon and everyone was tired beyond belief.
They had started walking at about one, when they first woke Oliver up, his arm still hurt from Hermione waking him up. He was pretty sure her nails might've left marks it hurt so much.
He could hear the three speaking, but didn't bother to listen, he was to tired to hear.
"Oliver!" the three of them looked back at Oliver's pale face. Green vines started up along Oliver's feet, and soon consumed his whole body. Oliver couldn't move, and felt as if he was suffocating.
"Literona Saliton!" Hermione pointed her wand and the vines dissapeared. Oliver fell to the ground, unsteadily.
All three of them kneeled beside him, "Is he okay, Hermione?" Harry asked, looking down at him.
"I think not," she answered, "the vines most of done something."
"Can't you do something about this?"
"Not if I don't know what they did."
Ron looked at Harry questioningly.
"Hermione, stay here with Oliver, me and Ron'll have to go without you. Can you do that?"
"No!" Ron shouted, "I'm not leaving her here, with, well, with him!" Ron looked over at Oliver, "No offense."
Oliver moved his eyes a tiny bit upward, looking to Ron.
"You guys just can't leave me here! What if something happens? We have to get him back... he could die for all we know. I mean - all the enchantments here are deadly. The vines could've done something really bad. We have to get him help."
"Help? Where in the middle of a deadly enchanted forest! We don't have help."
"Look, Hermione's right, Ron. Something could be wrong..."
"Oliver?" Hermione felt his forehead, it felt red hot as if Oliver was washed over with boiling hot water. "We have to get him help." she repeated.
Oliver felt sweat dripping down his forehead. He felt as if he was stuck in a volcano. He couldn't make out anything from his eyes, and he couldn't speak either. He didn't move, staying very still he heard Hermione and Ron's voices babbling. He slightly coughed, turning his head to the left to make it easier for him. A surge of pain went from his head down to his eyes. It forced him to shut his eyes. The pain inflicted upon him ached through his body. Oliver's face was pitch red, his eyes shut tight, and hands grasping eachother tightly to make it easier to forget the pain.
He felt the pain calm down, and he let loose his hands, slowly taking in deep breaths, his vision was still blurred, his head ached fiercely.
He kept taking deep breaths, when he felt the pain come into him again. This time worse, he dug his nails into his left hand, causing it to bleed, without realizing as the pain consumed his whole body. He let out a scream of pain, making Hermione fall back, Ron and Harry looking at eachother.
"Come on, we have to get back." Hermione said, taking out the supplies to transport them back to Hogwarts.
"We have to get Ginny..." Ron's words escaped his mouth.
"Look, Hermione, can you bring him there and come back to catch up with us. We can't let Ginny die." he said, kneeling beside her.
"You guys go, I'll be back. I promise." she said, setting everything up.
He loved her. He hated her. Why was it so confusing? Ginny had stopped pacing around the room, and sat in the corner next to Draco, her head in her hands.
"Were going to die." she said to him, through a muffled voice.
"No, were not." Draco pushed himself up and stood near the bars on the cell.
"There has to be a way out of here. I know that your wand is broken and everything and I don't know where mine is but there has to be a way. I'm not dying here."
She looked up at him plainly, thinking of how they could get out.
"What are you thinking?" she asked.
"What are you thinking?"
A noise came from the opposite side of the bars, and Draco and Ginny looked up, staring.
Part 15 - A Sneer
Now I will tell you what I've done for you
50,000 tears I cry
Screaming,
Deceiving,
And bleeding for you
And you still won't hear me
....GO AWAY....
Don't want your hand this time
I'll save myself
Maybe I'll wake up for once (wake up for once)
Not tormented daily defeated by you
Just when I thought I'd reach the bottom
[Chorus]
I dive again
I'm going under (going under)
Drowning with you (drowning with you)
I'm falling forever (falling forever)
I've got to break through
I'm, going under
Blurring and stirring the truth that comes out
(I don't know what's real and what's not)
Always confusing the thoughts is my head
So I can't trust myself anymore
I dive again
I'm going under (going under)
Drowning with you (drowning with you)
I'm falling forever (falling forever)
I've got to break through,
I'm, so go on and scream
Scream at me, so far away
I won't be broken again
I've got to breathe
I can't keep going under
"Ron, loook!" Harry pointed up at the sky. He pointed to a tranpsarent building a few miles away.
"We're here! Finally..." Ron sad, starting to run, Harry soon caught up to him.
"Wait, Ron! There could still be barriers or something! We can't run yet!"
"Then what do you suppose we do?" Ron stared back at Harry.
"Well, I haven't thought of that yet, but lets think. Okay, maybe we could go around and try going through the back."
"Harry, this could be Voldemort, whether we go through the front or the back they'll still be barriers or deatheaters or whatever you want to call them."
"Good point. We just need to think - "
Harry and Ron looked up at four deatheaters, staring down at them.
"What happened?" Proffesor McGonagall rushed Oliver and Hermione down to the hospital wing, she hurried, Hermione following her.
Madam Pomfrey was waiting for them with some kind of medication in her hands and a glass filled to the top with water.
"Come on, set him down," she said, motioning to the bed, Hermione slowly lifted him off her shoulder and sat him down on the bed. He wasn't screaming anymore, but looked as if he was over nauseus and had the most highest fever possible, he choked, trying to cough. His face turned purple as if he couldn't breathe.
Oliver felt numb, as if he was stiffened or was getting surgery still concious but not able to feel. He hardly could breathe - but could let out slight gasps here and there. He was happy the pain had gone - but he wasn't sure if not feeling at all was any better. He felt as if his brain had been disconnected so he couldn't move, so he didn't move at all. His back was stiffened - and he couldn't feel it but was sure it probably hurt if he could feel. He moved his eyes over to his hands - they had blood spilling over them from his nails digging into his skin, he also saw a bruise swelling on his leg. He wondered where he was, he was very out of it as he heard Hermione say. He remembered Hogwarts, but he just couldn't know why he was there - he was confused and injured and he wished his memory would soon return.
Lucuis's lips twisted into a sneer, very different from Draco's this time Lucuis's sneer seemed evil - very evil, ready to kill. Ginny stared, her eyes widening, her face drained of her usual color. She saw several deatheaters behind him, an dknew something was going to happen soon.
Lucuis laughed slightly as he stared at Ginny most uncomfortably. Draco slowly got to his feet, brushing off dirt from his pants.
"Father..." he said, looking behind him. All Lucuis did was smile.
"You actually thought you could find a way out of here? Even Potter and Weasley couldn't get out, and they hadn't even come in. Too bad they'll have to die - don't you think? They were just a waste anyway. Now Potter can't interfere - along with Ginny's brother. We don't need Weasley's here anyways. Do we now?"
Ginny looked down at her feet - trying to hold back tears. Draco fell silent for the first time in years.
"It's to bad that your little girlfriend'll have to die, isn't it Draco?"
Draco stared up - a sneer filled on his face at his father.
"Get her." he commaded the deatheaters. They all got in the cell to get Ginny.
Ginny gasped as she saw them. She felt as if she couldn't move anywhere.
"You can't take her!" Draco quickly took Ginny's hand and ran down the cell.
"Come on, Ginny! Think. What can we do? What can we do?"
"I..." Ginny was in a shock, "I... I don't know."
She frowned, her head still down, Draco trying to lift it up.
"Your wand!" he said, picking it up.
"It's broken," she said, looking at the bottom half of her wand.
"Wait, look maybe if we just use it anyways - Ron used his."
"Draco - he ended up spitting slugs!"
"Here, look, we should atleast try!" he pointed the one at the deatheaters, "Serpensortia!" he yelled.
The deatheaters flew back spinning. Ginny gasped, staring, as Draco widened his eyes in amazement.
"It worked!" Ginny said. She snatched it from his hand as the deatheaters began to lift themselves up, "Defrontee!" she yelled - but nothing happened.
"It's not working." she said holding the wand still.
He went to the bars of the cell and yelled as he saw his father running to get them, "Defrontee!"
The bars opened up as if fire had just burnt them. Ginny looked confused as Draco snatched her hand and they ran.
The halls were dark and musty, spiderwebs crowded it - and there were no lanterns or lights surrounding them. They saw a figure standing right in front of them, and the deatheaters followed close behind. Draco and Ginny stared at eachother, wondering if they were dead yet.
Part 16 - Let Her Cry
No one knows the pain you have inflicted,
Or what you feel within,
But when your ready I'll be waiting here,
And I'll cry with you if you want me to...
Theres nothing you can say
Nothing you can do
Theres nothing in between
You know the truth
Nothing left to face
Theres nothing left to lose
Nothing takes your place
When they say
Youre not that strong
Youre not that weak
Its not your fault
And when you climb up to your hill
Up to your place
I hope youre well
Theres nothing left to prove
Theres nothing I wont do
Theres nothing like the pain I feel for you
Nothing left to hide
Nothing left to feel
I am always here
When they say
Youre not that strong
Youre not that weak
Its not your fault
And when you climb up to your hill
Up to your place
I hope youre well
Blood rose in his throat. He coughed constantly, feeling the warm blood spit out of his mouth.
"It's not working!" Hermione yelled, trying to hold Oliver's face still so Madam Pomfrey could get the medicine in. He had been bleeding from his mouth for a few minutes now. They couldn't make him swallow anything, and he sounded as if he was choking. He didn't seem numb anymore, and he had started moving around in his bed to get away from Hermione's grasp on his face. He had been acting hysterical as if he was in a mental institution and Hermione had just about lost hope of Oliver surviving. He refused to take the medicine Madam Pomfrey gave him for some reason. His body twitched at its taste and then he started acting as if delirious. His body trembled badly as if he was having a heartattack, but Madam Pomfrey assured Hermione this was just a complication - it would pass.
It didn't seem to pass at this moment. Oliver had turned from purple to pale - shaking violently and bleeding. He stopped shaking slowly, and started taking long breaths, getting oxygen into his body again. Madam Pomfrey gave him water to wash done the medication and blood that had filled in his mouth.
Madam Pomfrey said it was very bad - very bad, indeed. But Hermione hadn't thought it to be this bad. She had started to feel nauseus herself at the sight of Oliver. He soon stopped bleeding and he sat on the bed quietly. He didn't speak - or even look at Hermione. Hermione didn't think he knew where he was. And just left him alone for awhile so he wouldn't start shaking once again.
She could see he was in a great deal of pain. His face had turned red now, and it looked as if he might be crying. The bloody hands from his nails digging into it had quickly healed - and his hands looked much better although not to well. Hermione looked down at her feet. She didn't now what to say to Oliver. Nothing could possibly help him in anyway that was spoken.
She made sure every once in a while to make sure he was breathing. Although just the sound of his gasps and long, hard breaths assured her he still had a pulse. She was afraid for Oliver - and Harry and Ron - and Ginny.
Hermione jumped out of her seat, checking her watch. It was 6:00 PM. She gasped. Harry and Ron! She was supposed to get Harry and Ron. But Oliver...
"Oliver..." she walked to his bed, "Oliver..." she asked questioningly.
He looked over at her, awaiting her to speak again.
"I need to leave - I promise I'll be back. Just stay here and I'll send someone to help you, okay, to take care of you." Hermione couldn't help but feel guilty to leave him but if she didn't leave, Ron and Harry couldn't get back.
Ginny and Draco looked all around them. They were surrounded. On one side Draco's father and deatheaters - or Voldemort. Either way they would probably go with Voldemort - they didn't have a choice. The choice was die or die. Ginny looked at Draco.
"Okay," Draco whispered, "We go straight right to my dad - theres stairs on the left side - You run down there fast, and I'll distract them."
"Are you sure?"
"They obviously want me. Right?" he said.
"I... I don't know."
"When I nod to you - run."
Draco looked back and front, and then quickly nodded to Ginny and they ran straight past the deatheaters and Lucuis - Ginny moved over left about to turn. Draco shouted at her 'no!' seeing it was a trap all along but Ginny was gone. He ran to his left quickly - his father grabbing him before he could get her.
"Draco." Lucuis sneered at his son, and Draco looked down at the black hole. Then back at his father.
Ginny fell quickly down the hole. She could've sworn hearing Draco yell as she went to the left. She landed abruptly, banging her head on stone. She felt blood come from inside her mouth, and she quickly swallowed it, and tried to get to her feet. It was dark - very dark. She couldn't see anything - she couldn't see what was up from the hole. She wiped at her face, feeling as though she had to cry at this point. She fell to the ground and sobbed - there was nothing else to do. She thought it dumb and uncharacteristic to cry - she had to find a way out. But she couldn't help it.
Harry was dead - Ron was dead - her brother was dead - Hermione was probably dead, along with Oliver. And she was next - and Draco was going to die, too. Her whole life was gone. She longed to see her mother one last time. Just once. To see Ron, and Harry, Hermione, her family.
But what came as a surprised to her was she longed to see Draco Malfoy. Draco Malfoy. She wanted to see him so bad... she couldn't stop what she wanted, she couldn't anymore.
It hurt to think of how she had hurt Ron when he went to the forest - and how she embarrased Hermione and Harry, how she had called her brothers names and had fights with her mother and father occasionally. She was sorry. She just wanted to see them - she'd take it all back if she could.
She'd take everything back. Just to see him, to see her family, to see her friends.
And she cried. She cried for all the mistakes, the fights, everything she had done. And most of all, she cried for what she lost, for what she was going to loose. What she didn't want to loose. She cried for what, for who, she loved.
Part 17 - A Familiar Voice...
I am colorblind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am taffy stuck and tongue tied
Stutter shook and uptight
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am fine
I am covered in skin
No one gets to come in
Pull me out from inside
I am folded and unfolded and unfolding
I am colorblind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am fine
I am fine
I am...fine
"Harry, Ron!" she yelled, running through the forest. Her breath was starting to go short from running for a few minutes or so, but she didn't slow down the least bit. She ran as far as she could without taking a break. Hermione was beginning to think they found it already. If only she had come quick she could've caught up.
She breathed deeply and stopped short to take a break. Her deep breaths stopped as she looked up.
It was there. A transparent old castle standing only about 2 miles away. It looked as if no one could go into it it was so transparent. Hermione smiled. She had found them. But how was she to get in the castle? There was sure to be guards or spells blocking her.
She sighed to herself and started walking, she couldn't feel her legs she had been running so much, and she felt as if she couldn't run anymore. She wondered if Harry and Ron were okay. Something could've happened to them. Proffessor McGonagall didn't know they were here because Hermione hadn't answered her when she asked. But Hermione couldn't. If she did she wouldn't be able to get them back.
No one would allow her too.
She felt her legs again - and smiled deeply, starting to run.
What about Ginny? What about Malfoy? Where they okay? And Oliver? He was in the hospital next to Seamus Finnigan and the quidditch team - but still she had to know how he was doing. Seeing him in such a way had probably made her worry more.
"Harry?" Ron slid over to where Harry laid.
"Harry!" he shook Harry.
Harry's eyes opened, and he blinked his eyes hard, a headache forming between his eyes.
"What happened?"
"Those bloody deatheaters took us and put us in here. They took our wands, too. Why didn't they just kill us?"
"I don't know, this is Voldemort, he most likely wants to kill us."
"Ginny..." Ginny heard a snake like sound coming from her left side. She stopped breathing abruptly.
She knew that voice... she knew it so well. It was the voice she never wanted to hear again. She realized this had reminded her of her nightmares when she dreamt he had returned to kill her, to possess her once again. She quickly got to her feet without thinking - it was an impulse reaction of hers she had formed whenever she heard that voice.
"It's nice to see you again." he said evily, him moving closer so the darkness wouldn't hide his face.
"I've been waiting to see you once again."
She back away, looking behind her but not seeing anything. It is to dark! she thought. The darkness surrounded her, not showing her where to go. With every step she took backwards - he took a few forwards. She contemplated turning and running. But this was Tom Riddle, Voldemort. He would catch her before she could say anything. Could even take a step.
"How have you been, Ginny?" the lips slithered off his tongue, poisoning her ears...
"Finally..." she stopped about 50 inches from the castle - she didn't know what to do. She hadn't exactly thought of anything to do. She never didn't have a plan. It was unusual. But she hadn't had time to think of one with everything going on. It was not to dark out yet. Around seven o'clock at the latest - but it remained dark out. Just enough light to see where she was going.
She looked behind her - and suddenly all her functions had been lost. It was Draco's father.
Part 18 - Into Dust
I want to hold the hand inside you
I want to take a breath that's true
I look to you and I see nothing
I look to you to see the truth
You live your life
You go in shadows
You'll come apart and you'll go black
Some kind of night into your darkness
Colors your eyes with what's not there.
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think it's strange you never knew
A stranger's light comes on slowly
A stranger's heart without a home
You put your hands into your head
And then smiles cover your heart
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think it's strange you never knew
I think it's strange you never knew
Oliver laid in his bed. It was seven by now and the dark already consumed the empty hospital wing. The darkness made him paranoid someone was going to jump out at him. His throat was still very sore, and when he attempted to speak he would start to cough again.
He could make out objects around the room since he got use to the dark.
He was afraid for them. Hermione hadn't returned with Harry, Ron, Ginny, Draco. Hermione hadn't returned at all. He was afraid they were hurt. He had told Proffesor McGonagall the truth around six fourty five so she could send help. He didn't exactly know what she did but he wanted to knkow if they had made it back okay. He hadn't heard any noises of them arriving yet, and that indicated that something happened. He couldn't believe he even let them do this... they should've told Proffesors so they could handle it. How could he be so stupid!
The dance started in an hour - and he could hear just a little noise from the downstairs level as they were setting it up for the dance. Oliver sat back and stared into the darkness.
"Poor little Ginny..." he said cruelly, his hands held out in front of him, pointing to Ginny. Ginny was pushed on the cold stone wall. She felt her back ache as she slid down it roughly, leaving her back cut deep. Tom Riddle, or Voldemort, stood there, watching her. She couldn't move at all. Her hands were not functioning, and her legs had been cut. She felt weak, and before she could hold them back, they came running down her dirty face. She tried to hide them with her dusty red hair, but it didn't work. And she remembered... she remembered thinking to herself last year to never let him see her crying. Never let him because then to him she would be even weaker than thought. But the tears came down like rain, and before she knew it she couldn't stop them.
"You're weak. Your all weak... but you'll all be dead too. All your friends. Draco." she gasped at his name.
"Don't worry, Ginny," he said cruelly, "I'll send him your regards... and then I'll tell him exactly how I killed you."
Ginny was taken by surprise, he lifted her up against the wall once again, and the rough surface cut her even deeper, her crying out in pain. Another tear streamed down her face, and she shrieked at the pain.
"Stop..." her throat was sore, and she didn't know if she had said anything, but she saw Tom's face. He had heard her, and he was smiling.
He took her from the left wall and banged her body against the right. Ginny scremed again. She felt as if she was pinned down to a wall with razor blades and knifes, and they were all cutting deeper into her.
She fell. The floor was cold, but smooth to her at this point. She felt nauseus, and paralyzed, and worried, and many other things she wished she could get rid of. She needed to get out.
"It's okay, Ginny. You'll be dead soon." he remarked, walking over to her and slowly running his hands threw her hair. Ginny shrieked from his freezing touch.
He grasped a clump of her hair, and threw her to the wall again, she fell slowly this time, unconscious.
"Miss Granger..." his face was pale, and his words were cruel as he looked down to her. His usually dull elegant smile twisted into a sneer that looked very unusually different from Malfoys had been. Although, she could still see the slight resemblance of the sneer. Her face turned white, as she saw him in front of her.
"I've been expecting you." he added.
Hermione breathed deeply, and abruptly checked behind her. Two deatheaters. She looked back to Lucuis Malfoy, an angry look on her face, with a slight remark of fear trembling on her lips.
"You won't get away with this, Malfoy." she said sternly at him. He smirked at her, and motioned to the deatheaters.
As they walked to her she took out her wand, and pointed at them.
"Saline inflamare!" flames lit up the dark, cold forest as the deatheaters tried to escape the fire set on them. Hermione smiled, and then noticed who was still behind her. She ran before he could grasp her jacket, back into the forest.
"Get her!" he shouted, sending six deatheaters to find her.
Hermione abruptly stopped running.
Part 19
I woke up in a dream today
To the cold of the static/And put my cold feet on the floor
Forgot all about yesterday
Remembering I'm pretending to be where I'm not anymore
A little taste of hypocrisy
And I'm left in the wake of the mistake/Slow to react
Even though you're so close to me
You're still so distant/And I can't bring you back
It's true/The way I feel
Was promised by your face
The sound of your voice
Painted on my memories
Even if you're not with me
I'm with you
You/Now I see/Keeping everything inside
You/Now I see/Even when I close my eyes
I hit you and you hit me back
We fall to the floor/The rest of the day stands still
Fine line between this and that
When things go wrong I pretend the past isn't real
Now I'm trapped in this memory
And I'm left in the wake of the mistake/Slow to react
Even though you're close to me
You're still so distant/And I can't bring you back
No
No matter how far we've come
I can't wait to see tomorrow
With you
The twisted and loud screams rung in her ears. Visions were clouding her mind. The colors were consuming her fears, and she felt numbness twitch in her cold body. She heard whispers through the clouds of smoke; Death is upon her... She felt a cold chill down her back and heard screams and saw dead, lifeless bodies spread throughout the floor she walked on. The room was painted black, blood spilled on the wooden floor. Her hair was a blazing red, and she looked as if she were only eight, alone and unafraid. The bodies looked almost frozen as they lay on the wooden floor. Almost as if they were porcelain dolls. She stopped between them, making sure she didn't step on one. She came to two adults, and looked down upon their dead bodies. A flash of red went through her eyes. And she smiled. She smiled knowing it was Harry Potter's dead parents.
She gasped, waking up from the horrifying nightmare that had awaken her.
The ground she laid on was still cold, and she was consumed by darkness. But she wasn't in the hole anymore. She heard someone screaming not so far away - and a headache formed. She closed her eyes tightly. She was afraid of what had happened to her. The floor was now smooth, instead of rough against her slashed back - and she ached everywhere on her body. She felt so scared. And she told herself not to burst out in tears - and she didn't thankfully. But when she heard the scream ring in her ear once more, this time more painful, she found something familiar in the voice. It was vulgar, a deep hissing voice, she had heard so many times before. It was Draco's voice.
She tried to pull herself up but she was unable too. She noticed she was in a dark room, with no sign of Riddle. It was a familiar room to her too for some reason. And her instincts told her to get the hell out of it. And fast. She tried again, harder, but she couldn't move at all.
"Draco!" she yelled.
"Draco! Draco!" she fought to move, but couldn't.
"Draco! Draco..." she got out of breath and fought to stay awake, a tear falling down from her cheek. "Draco!"
All she could hear was his muffled screams...
Oliver looked at the clock on the side of the bed. It was 7:30. And they still weren't here. He couldn't get to sleep - although Mdam Pomfrey told him too. He couldn't stop thinking that something really bad happened. It poked at his mind. In the hospital wing thinking about Voldemort killing people while his body ached horribly isn't the best thing to think about when darkness is everywhere.
Hermione's eyes widened.
"Hermione Granger." the woman said questioningly. Hermione nodded, then looked back behind her.
"Who-" the woman quickly took out her wand, pointing it at the deatheaters, and shouted, "Falsus Impareto!"
The deatheaters quickly found themselves kneeling on the ground - there faces red and their veins showing. Hermione thought it violent even though they would've killed her. The curse was very disgusting - bad imagery. She made a face looking at the deatheaters. She felt a strong feeling of aversion towards them. She saw how Lucius had a look of hatred across his face. He had malevolent look on his face, and she was afraid what he was up too.
When the woman grabbed her hand Hermione had first recalcitrated, but once she looked back at the deatheaters coming towards them, she decided she hadn't a choice.
So she ran.
Ginny felt her arms released from the wall. She felt strange. Something was going on. She looked behind her, and in front, and on the sides. No one was there. She could still here screaming and she carefully walked from the dark room, and tried to follow the voice. She came to a room were she heard the voice loud and clear, and although it wasn't Dracos', she quickly stepped in. She looked up at him.
"Don't." she said. She looked as she did in her last dream. Tom Riddle stood in front of her, with a young girl around 5 years of age standing next to him. Her hair was silky blonde, and she had a silk white gown on, along with a locket tied around her neck. Tears ran down her cheeks, and she whimpered at the sight of Riddle's knife.
Screams still rang to her ears - so loud. But she didn't seem to notice. Colors glowed from her eyes, as if she was under a spell. It didn't irritate her, but the visions she saw from her eyes made her feel as if she was dying. As she stepped toward Tom, fearless, colors blasted in front of her. A portal opened - a blast of gray coming into the dark black painted room. She looked around at the walls. She saw blood red painting glowing on the walls. It read 'Enemies of the heir beware'. She felt tense as she read. On the left wall it read, 'Deathness will soon come to all. Even you'. She didn't understand. Ginny looked down upon her feet. She slightly frowned, and then looked back up at Tom. And she smiled. She smiled knowing it was Harry Potter's dead parents.
"This is the way out, isn't it Tom?" she remarked, slowly looking up at him.
"What are you talking about?" he asked, the little girl still shrieking,
Ginny's hair slowly changed from blazing red to a black, it blended in with the walls in the room.
The girls whimpers went unnoticed, and before Ginny knew it he had swung the girl down on the floor on top of her cold dead parents, and had gripped Ginny's arm. Ginny sensed fear in her though she didn't gasp - or even say a word. She stared him straight in the eye. Her blue eyes faded as she looked at him. Her eyes widened. The faded blue turned to gray - and then to black. Fear struck her. His hand was cold... making chills up and down her spine. She didn't dare move. He looked at her - a face of hatred looking at hers.
"You silly little girl. You can't beat me." He took her by the neck and swung her across the room.
She hit the wall at an incredible speed, and then slowly fell to the ground. She opened her eyes, now turning to a white color, to see nothing other then Tom with the same little girl.
"No!" Ginny shrieked out before seeing him slice the girls neck and then throw her with her parents.
He walked over to her slowly - but still not leaving her time to regain her strength.
He kneeled beside her, his knife to her neck.
"Don't worry, Ginny, you'll be next." the words lingered from his mouth.
Ginny closed her eyes, and opened them again to see nothing other then Draco in back of Voldemort, staring back at her.
Blood red filled her eyes.
Part 20 - The Awakening
Part of me wont go away
Everyday reminded how much I hate it
Weighted against the consequences
Cant live without it so its senseless
Wanna cut it out of my soul
And just live with a gaping hole
Take control of my life
And wash out all the burnt taste
I made the problems in the first place
Hang my head low cause its part of me
Ya hardly see right next to the heart of me
Heard of me the routine scar
New cuts cover where the old ones are
And now Im sick of this
I cant stand the sandpaper thoughts that grade on my sanity
I rather not even be then the man thats staring in the mirror through me
Cut myself free willingly
Stop just whats killing me
Cut myself free willingly
Stop just whats killing me
Cut myself free willingly
Stop just whats killing me
Cut myself free willingly
Stop just whats killing me
I feel it everyday
I feel I made my way
I feel it swell up inside, swell up inside
Swallowing me
Freedom can be frightening if youve never felt it
Once its been dealt with you feel like youve been touched by something angelic
And then melted down into a pool of peace
Cease to be the animal you used to be
Remove the broken parts you know were wrong
And feel the calm when the problems all gone
And then you start to see another piece of yourself that you cant let be
Memories of the last fight to free yourself
Take it to the depths of the bottom of the well
And now you know you can choose to lose the part in your heart
Where your insides bruise
You can live if youre willing to
Put a stop to just whats killing you
Cut myself free willingly
Stop just whats killing me
Cut myself free willingly
Stop just whats killing me
Cut myself free willingly
Stop just whats killing me
Cut myself free willingly
Stop just whats killing me
I feel it everyday
I feel I made my way
I feel it swell up inside, swell up inside
Swallowing me
Alive in me, inside of me, a part of me screams away silently
This part of me wont go away, part of me wont go away
Everywhere I look around I see how everything aught to be
Every time I see myself theres always something wrong with me
I feel it everyday
I feel I made my way
I feel it swell up inside, swell up inside
Swallowing me
I feel it everyday
I feel I made my way
I feel it swell up inside, swell up inside
Swallowing me
I feel it swell up inside, swell up inside, swallowing me
I feel it swell up inside, swell up inside, swallowing me
"Who are you?!" Hermione demanded, catching her breath.
She looked behind her, seeing the deatheaters.
"We need to get out of here." the witch said.
"We can't! Ron, and Harry, and Ginny and Draco... their still there!"
"Good lord, what the bloody hell were all fo you doing out here?!"
"Look, please, I'll explain everything soon! But we need to help them!"
"Okay." Hermione commented to herself, then turned around and swung her wand up, shouting Forust Hermunyis at the deatheaters.
The deatheaters were swung off their feet and flew straight up in the air, and then quickly back down, but much farther away. Hermione gave a little laugh of astonishment. Smiling. Quickly the smile vanished from her face, remembering she had done the spell but also had remembered where she was.
She looked over at the witch.
"C'mon." the woman said, and Hermione followed her.
Ginny's eyes grew wider. Staring back at Draco she felt helpless. She saw something in Draco's right hand. It looked like another knife, almost a match with the one Voldemort had up to her neck. She felt the knife on her neck, slowly sinking beneath her skin. With a flash of light from the knife, she saw Draco stick it into Voldemort's back.
A yell came from Riddle as his grip loosened from the knife on Ginny's neck. And he fell to the cold floor with a loud thumping sound.
Ginny opened her mouth to say something, but realized she couldn't. She felt like she was drifting. Her mouth was open, but not saying anything even though she wanted too. She felt tears rolldown her eyes softly. The red vanished from her eyes, and turned into the pure blue color they usually were. Her hand gripped at her neck instantly, and then she pulled her hand away to see it. A little puddle of blood was in her hands. She tried to swallow, but couldn't. She gasped slightly, trying to breathe as she saw Draco's figure, but too teary eyed to see his face, sit beside her, cradling her face against his chest. She felt his instant soft, gentle touch.
She didn't want to die.
He was so warm, and she felt a tear drop on her forehead. He was crying with her. She was dying.
She didn't want to die.
"It's okay." Draco's muffled voice whispered to her, cradling her, trying to comfort her.
"It'll be fine, Ginny." He was lying, he knew she knew he was lying. But it was the only thing he could think to say. He kissed her red hair gently, tears falling down his pale face.
He lifted her up to face him, his hands on her face. And he kissed her softly.
"I need you..." he said. "I love you, Ginny. Don't leave me... don't leave me, Ginny..."
Ginny could hear what he said. And she wanted to return the words, but she couldn't. Another tear rolled down her face.
A little yell released from her cold, dry lips. She coughed slightly, feeling Draco's hands against her face, wiping her tears.
Draco looked into her now pale, fading, blue eyes. He knew he heard her. He could see it in her eyes. Blended with pain and fear. He wished she'd say something. She always knew what to say. He could see her struggle to stay awake, her eyes wide open, but drifting slowly.
A gasp escaped her lips and she fell into his lap quickly, breathing even more heavily.
"Ginny!" he screamed at her, trying to keep her alive.
"Ginny, listen to me! Don't go! Don't leave me! Stay here with me!"
Her breath stopped short, and she fell into a deep, dark, sleep. Draco felt her body, cold, and empty against his chest.
He looked at her. Her natural soft, peachy skin was now pale, like his. He breathed through the tears. A explosion of hate, anger and love flustered inside his stomach.
"Ginny..."
He looked at her, her eyes shut. Her blue eyes no longer remained open to stare into. She was gone.
He saw something at the corner of his eye. He quickly looked over his shoulder to the young girl laying on top of two adults. On her neck was an amulet, glowing red. He looked back at Ginny.
She was lifeless...
Chapter 21 - Poison
I've seen this place a thousand times
I've felt this all before
And every time you call
I've waited there as though you might not call at all
I know this face I'm wearing now
I've seen this in my eyes
And though it feels so great, I'm still afraid
That you'll be leaving anytime
We've done this once and then you closed the door
Don't let me fall again for nothing more
Don't say you love me unless forever
Don't tell me you need me, if you're not gonna stay
Don't give me this feeling, I'll only believe it
Make it real or take it all away
I've caught myself smiling alone
Just thinking of your voice
And dreaming of your touch, is all too much
You know I don't have any choice
Don't say you love me unless forever
Don't tell me you need me, if you're not gonna stay
Don't give me this feeling, I'll only believe it
Make it real or take it all away
Yeah Yeah Yeah
We've done this once and then you closed the door
Don't let me fall again for nothing more
Don't say you love me unless forever
Don't tell me you need me, if you're not gonna stay
Don't give me this feeling, I'll only believe it
Make it real or take it all away
Say you love me
Don't tell me you need me, if you're not gonna stay
Don't give me this feeling, I'll only believe it
Make it real or take it all away
Take it all away, take it all away
Ginny stepped through the door into the dark, lifeless, silent night. The dark was frightening. She didn't seem to care. The wind blew against her rose red cheeks. She heard thunder roaring through the air. There was no rain though. She seemed surprised that there was no rain. It made her even more uncomfortable. Her shining blue eyes stared down at the blue gown she was wearing. She remembered haven seen it before. She couldn't place it though.
She felt alive. Her heart sped at a rapid pace, but she stayed still. Her toes embedded in the sand, she smiled to herself. She always loved the ocean, loved the water. So pure. Her red hair flew behind her, the wind pushing it back and forth in a way that soothed all her fears. She walked through, and stopped just when she could feel the water reach her feet. The water was ice cold. Something Ginny would usually run away from because of its coldness. The blue gown blue forwards and backwards around her. She looked up at the sky.
The dark gray of the clouds and roaring of the thunder made her calm. She saw lightning flash, a brilliant streak of light, crashing down. The water swerved towards her. She carefully bent down and looked into the water. She saw nothing. Her reflection wasn't there. It made her afraid, and she quickly stood up, looking back at the lighthouse she had came from. Hair blew in her face as she looked. The lighthouse seemed as safe as the water. She could her it creaking back and forth. It made her stomach twist and turn. She felt as uneasy as possible.
She took her hands and swept her hair back, keeping her hand there until she bent down to the water again. She looked. There still was no reflection. Was she nothing?
The water rushed against her palms. It felt bitterly sweet, the water nice, but the deep frozeness of it making her twitch. She stood up again, she didn't know where she was, nor what she was doing there at all. She looked into the water and quickly gasped and ran through to the sand.
There was a person at the bottom of the water. She carefully crawled back to the water and looked down. The person was no longer there.
She wanted to get out of this place, she quickly turned to run, and saw a hole of black in front of her. She brushed her hand through it, to feel someone dragging her in. She quickly pulled her hand away, but the grasp was hard and she pulled away, falling into the water.
She shut her eyes tight, trying to get back up. She got to the top and quickly tried to swim back. It seemed so far away for some reason. It made her paranoid. She quickly tried to swim. She was about ther when she felt someone grasping her foot.
"No!" she yelled before going under. The person grasped her foot. His face was like porcelian, old and pale. She heard him mumble.
"The key is the girl," before he let go of her and floated back in the water. Her eyes widened as she felt two hands reach her shoulder.
She couldn't make anything out, and was too petrified from this guy who warned her, to remember someone was lifting her up.
As she reached the top of the water she choked water out from her mouth, her eyes stung violently as she looked up at a blurred vision. She blinked her eyes to see. The person's qualities starting to appear. She started coughing violently, and shaking. She was so cold. She felt crazy. What she had seen was crazy. Maybe she was too.
His blonde slicked back hair made her feel a warmness from the cold. The frown remained on her face. She could hear him calling her name as he grasped her.
"Draco..." she mumbled, coughing. She sobbed. A tear streamed down her face.
"I thought I... I thought I lost you." she coughed out.
He didn't say a word, he remained silent as he rushed her to the sand. He carried her onto the beach and laid her down. She appeared weak, almost lifeless. He didn't say anything. Because he knew she was okay, and because he had nothing to say. The amulet laid next to her, it glowing brightly. She didn't say a word. The silence felt comfortable to them at that point. Ginny trying to peice together what had just happened, how it happened. Why it happened.
Had it been Draco grasping her from the hole?
She coughed again, as she sat herself up slowly, Draco putting his arms to support her from falling back down. She put her face down on his shoulder gently, the coughing stopped. He felt her shaking violently. They need to leave.
He looked up at the gray sky, lightning striking, thunder deafening his ears. They need to leave. He looked over at her.
"Ginny, we have to go." he said.
He carefully rose to his feet and lifted her up. She had regained some of her strength to lift herself up slowly, but was still trembling with fear. He carefully took her hand, his hand against her back, and they went through the portal.
