Part 12 - All Over Again
Should I have a taste of this
Run across your lips
And start all over again
Could this all just be a dream
If I should fall to stormy weather,
Wake Me, Wake Me
Maybe this time I can do it all right
Without my foot in my mouth
Without that blind in my sight
Could this all just be a dream...
Too scared to lose the one
I tried so hard far
Too scared to lose the one
I never had
"Harry, Ron!" Hermione called, running back into the Gryffindor room.
"What?" Ron sat up in his bed, looking as if he hadn't slept in days.
Harry sat up, looking at Hermione with a confused look on his face.
"What is it, Hermione?"
"It's Ginny, out in the hall! She's doing something!"
Ron and Harry looked at eachother for only a second, and then quickly got up from their beds and then ran through the common room and out the door. They saw a flash of light, causing them both to put their hand over their eyes.
"Come on!" Hermione demanded, running through the light.
Ron and Harry followed, still making sure the light didn't blind them.
Hermione ran through the light caused by Ginny's ring. Ginny stood in front of her, her back facing Hermione. The light stopped, even though instead of the light going into the ring again, the light took Ginny and Draco with it, consuming them both in the small ring. Hermione fell to her knees and picked up the ring, looking straight into it. All the light that had once glowed from it was gone.
"Oliver!" Hermione yelled, running into his room. "Oliver!" she shook him violently, and Oliver sat up in his bed to see no other but Hermione, Harry, and Ron standing on his left side.
"What is it?" Oliver sounded stubborn as he got out of his bed. "What's all this fuss? People around here like to get sleep, you know!"
"Sorry..." Hermione started, "But we need your help. The ring took Malfoy and Ginny!"
"What?" Oliver was confused looking at Hermione.
"It took Draco and Ginny - they're IN the ring!"
"That can't be possible." Oliver looked astonished, "The rings can't do that. I mean... well... Professor Quirrell once mentioned that the ring could help people survive and transport by spells, but he never said that it would just take people."
"What?" Hermione said, her eyes widening, "It could help people survive?"
"Well, yes, how do you think it saved Malfoy?"
"It could help anyone?"
"Yes."
"What if it's Voldemort?"
Ron looked shocked, feeling his stomach turn.
"I mean... he's not in any form, he needs something to survive, doesn't he?"
"I don't know. Maybe it's not. Why would he want Ginny and Malfoy? It wouldn't make sense."
Ginny awoke in a dirty and rusted cell. It was dark except for a candle that was sitting behind the bars, bringing just a bit of light to the dark cell. Ginny's red hair was now dark and gray from dust. She lifted her self up a little with her hand, looking at the stone floor. It was cracked in many places and it looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in ages.
She didn't exactly remember where she was, are what had happened. For some reason it had all been a blur to her. She remembered trying to stop Draco from leaving, and she remembered light.
Light! she thought, looking down at her hand. But the ring was no longer there. She suspected whoever put her here had taken it. This meant she couldn't find Draco. Not at all.
She heard a noise from the far left of the cell, and she carefully walked further into the dark cell, trying to follow the noise. She then heard feet, and stepped back a little. She realized the footsteps were coming towards her, and she silently ran back to were she had woke up.
Ginny was frightened this time. She had no idea where she was, nor who was coming at her. But she needed to get out. She looked for her wand in her pocket, but nothing was there. She had no wand and no tools to protect herself... she was all alone.
"Ginny, are you looking for something?" the voice was plain, and somehow sounded cruel to her ears.
Observation
This was a particularly small chapter, with very little information. You were introduced to the theory that Voldemort may be involved in some way with the story, obivously. But you have absolutely no idea where the hell Ginny and Draco are. "Ginny, are you looking for something?" That was just something I put there to try to edge you in into wanting to read more. Many people thought it was saying the person was evil(You'll find out who it is next chapter), but it really didn't. It also made you aware that ginny was unarmed, she was vulnerable, and the fact Draco wasn't with her made her more vulnerable. That obviously shows that she believes Draco would protect her, and that she trusts him.
