Welcome to the Colonial Models web site,in which you will find details of our range of kits and bits for the mainly 7mm scale(O gauge)railway modeller.Many of the items advertised have been produced initially for our own use and can be found in situ on our extensive 7mm finescale model railway(some images of which we have used on this page to illustrate our products)that is based on the Great North of Scotland Railway as running in the early 1950's,during British Railways ownership.

The above photograph of Donside shows our working Scottish style Double track level crossing gates to the left of which is one of our Telegraph
poles alongside the crossing keepers cottage.To the
right,on the other side of the crossing gates can be seen the crossing signal
box,fitted with our 9 pane window frame castings.The signal box is a model of a prototype box which controlled the gates at Boat of Kintore.A 7mm scale drawing of this box is available on request. Links to other model railway web sites of related interest
All kits come complete with detailed assembly instructions and all parts necessary to finish,except for adhesive and paint.
If desired we can supply any of our kits assembled and painted ready to install on your layout.
