The New Revised Standard Version of the Bible says that Hebrews and James were written for Jewish Christians. Hebrews presents Christ as the perfect sacrifice and true high priest, who mediates between God and humanity. James reminds Jewish Christians that faith requires faithful living. 1 and 2 Peter were written to offer encouragement to the churches in Asia Minor in a time of persecution. 1, 2 and 3 John emphasize Christian loyalty and the love of God for those who are faithful. The Revelation to John presents a dream-like vision of the victory of Christ in the ultimate struggle between good and evil at the end of time.
