Ecology

Ecology concerns the life of the earth. It poses ethical issues of paramount importance, because the human species depends on the earth for life and yet is rapidly degrading the capacity of the earth to support life.

At present two papers are posted in this area of the web site, but more will follow.

Creating an Earth Community

Advocacy for ecology may benefit from considering how human rights advocacy has been so successful.  Perhaps "earth community" may serve as the core concept for ecology as "human dignity" has for human rights.

An Earth Charter

A brief statement of the principles supporting an ecological world view and a list of the documents in international law that contribute to these principles.
