A Demonstration Lesson A demonstration English lesson took place at our school on the 26-th of November. Volodymyr Kyrychok, a teacher of English, conducted the lesson at the 11-th form. Teachers of English from 7 other schools and the headmistress Zagurska L.M. were present at the lesson. A special guest was Mathias from Denmark. We were speaking about famous people, inventors and inventions. At the beginning of the lesson we reviewed active words and word combinations and then we watched episodes from the film “Cleopatra”. The students told the class what the episode was about. Our main topic for discussion was Rudolf Diesel, his engine and his mysterious death. Anya Gluhova read an article which described the major methods of Diesel’s engine work. The article was found on the Internet. It helped us to learn some new very important words and word combinations such as: internal combustion engine, compression, spark plug, piston, crankshaft... Then the students Sasha Marchenko, Vita Smilyk expressed their points of view on the reasons of Rudolf Diesel’s mysterious death. The material for the discussion was found on the Internet too. At the end of the lesson the teacher asked Mathias to speak. Mathias told us about himself and about Hans Christian Andersen, a famous Danish writer. For Mathias English is as important as a drinking water. The lesson was finished by writing an article about the lesson and mailing it to Canada as school news for our website. We were going to do it with the help of a notebook and a mobile phone which the teacher brought together with him. But because of bad telephone connection we failed to do at the lesson and did it another day.
No news... The regular renewal of our site is temporarily suspended due to the fact that the school's principal V.A. Kyrychok was offered a job at a Danish company. Please check for more news later.
Greetings from Our Visitor Good day! I came across your school site by chance, and of course could not pass by it because the name of the school sounded very familiar. As it turned out, I was right. You were my neighbours. I used to study at the Charkovska school in the same Talalayivka region. I liked very much what you do here, because honestly there are many people even in Chernigivska oblast who cannot tell for sure where the Talalayivka region is. I know your school a little, too. At the time when I was a schoolgirl, I used to take part in almost all regional competitions among schools. I graduated not so long ago - in 1999, and now work in Chernigiv. I even tried to find a web site of my school, but all my efforts failed (to tell you the truth, I even got disappointed about that). But the work you do is really great, so keep it running. I wish you all the luck. With respect,
All Ukraine as Ukrainske Talalaivka district is rich in petroleum and natural gas. Everywhere boring options are situated. It would seem our district is prosperous. But it is vice versa: it is one of the poorest districts of the region and takes the last place on settlements’ gasification. Recently the village of Ukrainske was shown in the evening news on the TV channel "1+1" and it was written about in newspapers. Near the village eight mining holes are operating, and a new one is going to be opened. But what benefit from that to the people, the proprietors of this rich earth? There is no use for the people but a smoke-screen from incineration of passing gas, permanent crash of the special technique that breaks up rural roads and vanishing water in the wells. This village, as well as many other villages of Talalaivka district does not have gas. In the state budget for the booty of oil and gas only by Talalaivka workshop of trade it is foreseen to pay 230 - 250 million hryvnyas in a year. But the district the earth bowels of which are exhausted has nothing from it. All money goes to Kiev. That’s why the regional soviet does not give a permission to open a new mining hole near Ukrainske. Yarmosh Dennis, 7th grade
