Our School at the «Chance» Contest There were six participants from our school at the regional «Chance» contest, performing contemporary songs. All of the participants are invited to the closing concert at the Talalayivka Cultural Centre.
Winners of the Regional Educational Olympiads Results of the regional educational olympiads are announced. The first place in History (10th grade) belongs to our student Gnyp Eugenia. Among those who won the second place are: Pryjmak Yana (8th grade, Chemistry), Kolomietz Kateryna (8th grade, Mathematics), Besarab Volodymyr (9th grade, English Language), Gnyp Evgenia (10th grade, Mathematics). The 7th grade student Prohorchuk Yaryna won the third place in Mathematics. Congratulations to all our winners!
The Legal Literacy Month December in our school is the Legal Literacy Month. All classes are to prepare a wall poster on the topics of Legal Literacy.
This Year's Graduates Nine students graduated from our school this year. Four of them are studying now at the universities, three went to the colleges, one chose professional technical training, and another one is getting ready for the military service.
Stars of the Amateur Stage On March 15th our school hosted the review of our choir and other amateur talentactivities. Artistic performances were judged by the members of the Board of Education. All of our performers were selected for the next round at the regional level. Our greatest achievement is the choir that presented 4 songs (words by Vyshnevyi, music by our teacher Abovyan Natalia Ivanivna). As mentioned by the judges, our choir was the best one. Another highlight of our participation was the performance of the 6th grade student Mykola Romashko who recited T.G.Shevchenko's poem "Gamalia".
Our Deepest Sympathies Students and teachers express their deepest sympathies to our: physics and mathematics teacher O.L.Bolotina on the loss of her father; Ukrainian studies teacher S.M.Klochko on the loss of his grandmother; former elementary classes teacher N.Tyschenko on the loss of her mother.
Victorious Olympians Students of our school took part in the regional round of educational olympiads and got the results that are not so bad overall. Vladyslav Kyrychok won the 1st place in mathematics and the 4th in physics; Andriy Kyrychok scored 9th in informatics and 21st in mathematics; Yuri Mazura was the 25th in physics. The winner of the regional olympiad Volodymyr Kyrychok was in Chernigiv on March 21-25 preparing for the all-Ukrainian mathematics olympiad.
Language Week The Week of Ukrainian Language held in our school from February 27th to March 3rd, turned out to be interesting and eventful. Each class prepared a wall newspaper and participated in a literary quiz "Chernigiv Region Litarature". The most popular event was the humor storyteller competition named "The Golden Gosling". Mykola Romashko yet again proved himself as the second to none storyteller.
Amazing Physics On March 6th to 10th the Physics Week was held in our school. Students presented demonstrations of amazing physics experiments complete with scientific explanations. The 8 grade hosted the "Amazing Physics" festival. The two 9th-grade teams dubbed "The Electrons" and "The Tiny Newtons" competed to outwit each other in the knowledge of physics. "The Tiny Newtons" celebrated the victory.
Our Celebration of the Women's Day On the eve of the Women's Day we had a concert where students greeted their mothers and grandmothers with songs and dance performances, and presented them some nice home-made gifts. Young participants of the "Miss Spring" contest were anxiously waiting for this day to come. Our 4th grade student Ksenya was the lucky one to win this lovely title.
The Prize Camera in Action The "Ecology and Us" hobby group took a walk to the local forest and the lake. Our area was hit with a heavy snowfall this winter. On many legs of their trip the group members found themselves waist-deep in snow. They photographed the beauty of the winter forest, and also used an axe to made holes in the frozen lake's ice to let in some air for fish to breathe.
Tragic Fire A house was destroyed by night fire on February 5-6 in the neighbouring village of Skorohodove. The property owners and their two guests - mother and son - lost their lives in fire. The guests were the mother and the brother of our 11th grade student Tanya. We sincerely share her grief and try to support her through these hard times.
Prize for Activity in Ecology The students from the "Ecology and Us" hobby group were awarded a diploma and a prize in form of a photo camera for their active participation in the "Clear Springs Bound" contest. The trophies were presented by the heads of the Ecology and the Education Departments at the Chernigiv regional government administration.
News of the Club A week-long "Know and Love Your Mother Tongue" competition of "The Merry and Ready-Witted's Club" teams of the 5th and 6th grades has just finished. The better expers in native language appeared to be in the team of "Jolly Why'ers" (6th grade).
The Guest From the Pages of the Textbook The Deputy Head of the Writers Association of Chernigiv region, poet Vasili Budennyi visited our school at the beginning of February. His works can be found in our 5-11 grades Ukrainian Literature curriculum.
Scrap Metal Becomes the TV On January 12th the school bought a new TV set using the funds our studens accumulated by collecting scrap metal. The price of this TV is 860 hr., that is approximately $120 US dollars.
