On the 18th of July, 2003, an important discussion took place in Bridgeport concerning the state of Connecticut's social, economic and environmental health. Researchers from around the United States collaborated on an in-depth analysis of the factors -- local, state, national and international -- that will to a large extent determine the quality of life for Connecticut's current and future citizens. This website, created specifically to promote the conference, brings together important statistical information and presents the case for specific changes in public policy designed to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing global economy and the desire of citizens for environmental sustainability and an improved quality of life.
