PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Week of May 21-25, 2001

Though I would LOVE to give my Performer of the Week award to Chris for his touching desire to wed Eve and be a father for her baby (did you notice the real tears in his eyes at the cabin when Eve turned down his proposal?), I think hands down I would have to award Performer of the Week to Frank!

Frank's gut wrenching anguish at having to face life without his Karen, the woman that he loves, is what sweet love stories are made of. Frank has come a long way. Just in the past year he has overcome addiction, greed, and Courtney (his biggest challenge) to find his way back to life...and love.

Frank vowed that because he had altered the past with his involvement with Nellie the Computer, he would travel back in time to change the past, and his eventual and possible future with Karen. He truly felt the only chance he had at happiness was to bring Karen back to present day. He was willing to make any sacrifice (possibly even death) to do so.

This is a drastic change from the greedy, thinks-only-of-himself Frank. As he traveled in 1973, he was amazed at how surreal running into himself as a small child could be. He was willing to risk dying to have the smallest chance that he could rescue Karen and be with her forever. It was apparent to this viewer that he even cared about Arianna, knowing that her life could be saved if Karen were found and able to donate part of her kidney. Towards week's end, his anger at himself for having tried to save Karen and feeling he had failed were real. It was evident that if he were to reunite with Karen, they would have a love like no other, as it really had stood the test of time.

Kudo's Frank-your love for folks other than yourself, and your willingness to give your life and offer yourself to save Karen makes you Port Charles' Performer of the Week!
