Goals
Troop 256 seeks to:
- Create an environment where religious
observance is acceptable and encouraged.
- Develop leadership skills.
- Help Scouts advance in BSA rank through
acquisition of specific required skills and optional areas of training.
- Provide opportunities for wholesome fun.
- Provide in a wide variety of skill training
in order to gain experience in activities that broaden knowledge and opinions about
individual preferences.
- Expose a Scout to a wider circle of peers
and adult leaders.
- Develop self-discipline, self-motivation,
responsibility, and character.
- Sharpen a sense of awareness of citizenship,
an individual's role in society, a place within an organization, and selfless contribution
to the community.
- Develop and maintain physical fitness.
- Instill a work ethic.
- Foster public speaking confidence, skills,
and experience.
- Create an environment where self-destructive
behaviors are discouraged and corrected.
- Develop orderly habits for personal
planning, record-keeping, and documentation.
- Develop awareness, understanding, and
adherence to the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
