SYDNEY
EAST OF CITY CENTRE

Walking along Oxford St. between the city and the Bondi Junction area where I was staying was thirsty work.

EAST SYDNEY HOTEL
Just out of the city centre I spent a pleasant lunch time in here.

A smallish front bar meant it soon became full but who wants to be in an empty pub.

I liked this place.

OLYMPIC HOTEL
This seemed to be a good drinking pub.

Functional !

Probably me but I didn't feel at ease in here.

BRIGHTON HOTEL

Small to begin with and smaller still as half the space was taken up with gaming machines.

Couldn't have been too bad though because I went back.

UNICORN HOTEL
Large pub, as I was to discover, and not much emphasis on comfort.

I was engaged in what can only loosely be described as conversation with a gentleman who seemed to have spent a lot of time and money in here or other pubs when I realised he had mistaken me for Don King and wanted me to arrange a fight for him.
This was when I decided to find out how big the pub was.

DURTY NELLY'S
ST PATRICKS DAY
An Irish pub although on my first visit there wasn't too much on the inside to back that up.

I had a pint of Old and it may have been the pint glass but there did seem to be some extra quality to the drink in here.

Well I had to go back didn't I ?

Standing room only fortunately there was plenty of that outside.
Even though there was a lot of green on show there was a paucity of the brogue, so there was.

IMPERIAL HOTEL

Nothing to shout about inside or out but a decent, friendly boozer.

Keep going east along Oxford St
