Anime ~ A Japanese animation which is usually based on the manga. Usually a different person from the manga creates the anime.
DNA ~ This stands for deoxyribonucleic acid. DNA's are a nucleic acid that carries the genetic information in the cell. DNA consists of two long chains of nucleotides twisted into a double helix and joined by hydrogen bonds between the complementary bases adenine and thymine or cytosine and guanine. The sequence of nucleotides determines individual hereditary characteristics.
Endangered ~ An animal which is in danger of losing its habitat or threaten with extinction.
Exctintion ~ A word use for animals which on longer exist.
Genes ~ From my GCSE science lesson, genes are tiny parts inside our body which shows inheritance. There are 52 genes inside the human body and each gene gives different types of inheritance such as hair, eye colour, skin colour and may more.
Hiragana ~ These are the Japanese own alphabet letters, which of course is different and nothing like the English alphabet. There are exactly 71 hiragana characters in total, plus 27 hiragana words consisting of 2 hiragana characters.
Kanji ~ These are Chinese characters in the Japanese lanuage. Chinese characters are either simplified or traditional. So whats the difference between traditional and simplified? Traditional Chinese letters are used in Hong Kong and they are full Chinese characters, where as simplified, as you guess is simplified versions of traditional characters, which contains less strokes/lines then traditional letters. The Japanese kanji uses only simplified Chinese characters. Japanese usually write their name in kanji, however there are some names written in hiragana. i.e. the TMM girls first name is written in hiragana, except for Purin's name. There are approximately 48,000 kanji words in total.
Katakana ~ Uses the same pronunciations as Hiragana, however katakana is mostly used for sound effects or pronouncing English words. Some people call it kana for short & you may notice that there are some kanji (Chinese words) and English words with Japanese letters above them, that is called kana & it is use to pronounce non-Japanese words. There are exactly 78 kana words in total, plus 27 kana words consisting of 2 kana characters.
Manga ~ Manga is the Japanese word for "comics" Mangas are usually black & white with uses of screen tones, lines and textures.. Usually a manga is produced before the anime.
Mew Aqua ~ A rod with power to protect the world. Ryou keeps the Mew aqua's in a little bottle. The Mew Aqua can heal injured species.
Romanji ~ Also known as Romanize or Romanization, these are hiragana or kana characters written in English letters, which is used for pronouncing Japanese words.
Species ~ Another word used for animals.
