People dont really get dependant on it but might phychologically think that they cannot live without it.
Different people can get different types of reactions to smoking cannabis it gives some people a buzz and it can make other people paranoid. It can also cause halm to people like tobacco, such as lung disease and cancer. In small quantities, and used occasionally, it can make you feel relaxed, heighten creativity, more sociable, enhance appetite (the munchies) and giggly.
In larger quantities, or used more frequently, it can make you feel paranoid, anxious, withdrawn, and lethargic. It can also make you feel dizzy, disorientated and physically sick(whitey). In some cases, it can bring on panic attacks. Some types, skunk in particular, can be hallucinogenic.
Cannabis is not physically addictive, but some people report becoming psychologically dependant. People with mental health should not use cannabis as it alters there state of mind and there is evidence emerging of a link between cannabis and schizophrenia. It can also be used for pain releif and some other medical reasons but is still illegal to use, but it is being researched.
Cannabis has been re-classified under the misuse of drugs act, from class B to class C. This includes cannabis oil as well as resin and grass. The maximum sentence for posession is now 2 years and or an unlimited fine. The maximum sentence for supply (which can include passing a spliff) is 14 years and or an unlimited fine. Cannabis remains illegal and police still have powers to arrest, if you are found in possession of Cannabis. |
