Report 2, By NM Mark Holness, March 15, 2003, 2003 CORNWALL COLLEGE TO FACE CAMPION IN FINALS OF 2003 RBTT CHESS CHAMPS
Cornwall College squeezed into the Finals of the RBTT National High School Chess Championships when they defeated Manning's High in an exciting Blitz Playoff after the both teams were tied at 2-2 in the normal games. Cornwall College's Dorell McCalman used his experience to defeat Marc James from Manning's High 4-2 in the Six game Blitz Playoff. In the earlier games, Cornwall College was leading 2-1 but Marc James from Manning's launched a devastating Kingside attack, to defeat Dorell McCalman from Cornwall and tie the score at 2-2 Battle of The Four C's With this victory Cornwall College has now setup a dream Finals against Campion College who made it to the finals when they defeated Wolmer's Girls 21/2 -1 1/2 at Campion College.
