Six Round Swiss (3 Rounds on Each Day)


TIME CONTROL
OPEN SECTION: Sixty-five (65) minutes in the 1st round and Seventy-five (75) minutes to complete all other games.

AMATEUR SECTION: All Games in 65 Minutes

REGISTRATION FOR THE FIRST ROUND ONWARDS WILL TAKE PLACE UP TO 12 NOON ON FRIDAY APRIL 13, 2007

LATE REGISTRATION FOR THE FIRST ROUND ONWARDS, WHICH ATTRACTS AN ADDITIONAL $500 FEE, WILL BE ALLOWED UP TO 6 PM ON FRIDAY APRIL 13, 2007

ENTRANTS THEREAFTER, WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO PLAY IN ROUND 2 ONWARDS

Please note that a number of the individuals listed above will be at the Jamaica Pegasus on Tuesday and Wednesday April 10 and 11, between 9 and 3 pm at the Primary/Prep Schools Chess Champs, so individuals wishing to register may do so at that time.


Registration for Round 2 onwards closes at the end of the first round on Saturday


NB: Half (½) point bye available only for first round and will only be allowed after proper registration. This is not noted for late entry; in addition all late entries will be qualified for only the second round.

PROPER REGISTRATION means paying the relevant fee(s) in addition to completing the registration form.

APPROXIMATE AND ESTIMATED SCHEDULE

DAY ONE (Saturday 14th April, 2007)

OPENING CEREMONY: 8:45 am

ROUND ONE: 9:00 am

LUNCH 11:15 am to 12:05 pm.

ROUND TWO: 12:10 pm

ROUND THREE: 2:50 pm


DAY TWO (Sunday 15th April, 2007)

ROUND FOUR: 8:30 am

LUNCH 11:05 am to 11:50 pm

ROUND FIVE: 11:55 am

ROUND SIX: 2:30 pm

AWARDS CEREMONY: 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm


ENTRY FEES
Adult members J$1000
Students/Juniors (U18) - J$800

NB: All players must be paid-up members of the Jamaica Chess Federation.

MEMBERSHIP FEES
Adult - $2000 per year/$1,000 for 6 months
Juniors (under 20 as at January 01, 2007) - $1000 per year/$500 for 6 months



GUARANTEED PRIZES
OPEN SECTION: 1st $10,000 plus trophy.

AMATEUR SECTION: 1st - J$5,000 plus trophy.

Other prizes include best Under 8, 10, 12 and 14 year-old players, best rural player, best female player, and best new player.
