Defending
Champion FIDE Master Warren Elliot won the 2005 LASCO National Chess
Championship, after scoring a thriller victory over Peter Myers in the
final round on Sunday at the Norman Manley Law School. Elliott finished
with 9 points from 12 games to claim his fourth hold on the National
title.
In
second place was National Master Russell Porter who finished on 8½
points, while third place went to National Master Jomo Pitterson on
7½ points. Fourth place was shared by three players, National
Masters Robert Wheeler, Shane Matthews and Malaku Lorne who all ended
on 5½

RESCHEDULINGS
Each player will be allowed one game to be brought forward, NOT POSTPONED.
Any cost associated with rescheduling will be borne by the player making
the request.
ENTRY
REQUIREMENTS
JCF Membership
All participants must be fully paid up members of the Jamaica Chess Federation
for the full period of the tournament. Individual reminders will be sent
to each potential participant indicating their membership status.

Entry Forms
Entry forms will be sent to the twelve invited players. Players should
note that it is vital that correct contact information is stated on their
completed entry form as this will be used for sending out further information.
Final Date for Payment
All fees and membership dues are to be paid in full by Sunday March 20,
2005 at the latest. All entry forms and payments must be given to the
Secretary of the Jamaica Chess Federation or delivered to his office located
at Brown & Henderson, Unit 4, 11½ Swallowfield Road, Kingston

Refunds
Entry fees are not refundable. The caution fee is refundable after the
tournament is completed, except in the following cases:
(i) a player
defaults any game without a reason acceptable to the JCF Executive Council
(ii) a player
is not present at either the opening or closing ceremonies without a reason
acceptable to the JCF Executive Council.
PRIZES
Winner
The winner gets a trophy, the title of 2005 National Chess Champion and
first right of selection to represent Jamaica in international events
held before the next Championship
