REPORT ON WOMEN'S CHAMPS

By Peter Myers, Vice President Middlesex

WOMEN'S CHAMPS/PRESIDENTS/CADETS

The National Women's Championship was won by favourite Keisha Ramator who was returning to chess after a long stint away. She scored 6.5/7. In second was Camille Casserly, who's only loss was at the hands of Ramator in what proved to be a nail-biting thriller. Third was Lydia Morrison.

In the Presidents Invitational, Ramon Jackson walked away with the top prize despite being one of the dark-horses in the field. Tied for second were Mark Henry and one of the tournament favourites Markland Douglas. Another tournament favourite and many times entrant Michael Diedrick finished down the track.

The Cadets Championship proved to be a shocker for this editor as one of the supposed favourites Charles Ross Jnr. was literally outclassed by a number of his opponents, which actually bodes well for the future. All the results and games will soon be available www.geocities.com/games2/middlesex.
