This is the ever famous SUPERMAN CREST! This is a weapon used against the phantoms from the Phantom Zone and used against Zod. It was given to Clark by Raya, sent to the Zone by Jor-El to protect her from the destruction of Krypton. It is still unclear as to exactly what powers this  possesses.
