| Springbank Distillery was founded in 1828 and remains under the direct control of the descendants of its founders � the Mitchell family, making it Scotland�s oldest independent distillery. |
| There are a number of distinctive features with Springbank that some believe contribute to its excellent quality and reputation. It is the most completely traditional of all distilleries and is unique in Scotland in that all parts of the production process, from floor maltings through to bottling, are carried out at the one location. The use of the �two and a half distillation� process is also said to be largely responsible for Springbank�s unique fragrance and mellowness. |

| The very unique Springbank Single Malt is both salty and oily in character with a definite hint of coconut on the palate. The 21 Year Old which is deemed a 'cult whisky' will only be available next in 2010. |

| Springbank also refuses to chill-filter or add artificial colouring to the whisky before bottling but rather bottles at the slightly stronger strength of 46% abv. |
