Investment and Me
My interest on stock investment began on 2000. During the IPO of HongKong.com, I was eligible for applying 2000 new shares of HongKong.com because I had an email account at the site. I was so naive at that time that I thought I would earn a lot from this investment. :-P Soon, I realized that I was wrong!
It was because my final year project in SEEM in CUHK is about web-based portfolio management system, I was forced to study more about finance and investment. The more I know, the more I love. I was attracted to the knowledge in it, and I began putting my time into it. Now reading economic or financial news has already become my habit. I like to read securities analysis reports, listed companies' balance sheet and their incoming statement, books about investment, research on equities and exchange rates, etc.
Nevertheless, my investment skill is very bad, but I am improving! (click here to check my recent records!) I believe it's not a difficult thing to have a return higher than that obtained from the bank's saving account.(which is 0.01% per year) But I doubt if I could always beat the performance of the Hang Seng Index.(which is so-called passive investment) You know, you need lots of time to do your own research, and I don't think tips in the newspaper is worth-trusting! If they are really that cool, they won't be spending time writing articles, rather they will be a fund manager managing billions of dollars and go on vacation every year.
I am thus looking for a good fund manager to help managing my money.
PS: I like Warren Buffett very much, I am his fans!!!!
