The Sims

Information

 What is The Sims?

The Sims, to put it simply, is a people simulator. Emotions and actions are portrayed in a virtual manner, with virtual people, in a virtual house, in a virtual simulated world.

Who is it made by?

The Sims is made by Will Wright, the legendary creator of the Sim City series and developer at Maxis. The Sims has turned out to be one of his best loved games, and is up there with the best.

So, after a brief background, what features are there? Well, there is the ability to have a job, friends, have a house with furniture that the simulated person can interact with and use, and much more.

Money is very important, you can never underestimate the power of Simoleons for paying bills or buying food. The more money you have, the better the things are that you can buy. But if you run out of money, and you can't pay your bills, you can expect a visit from someone who would like to take that widescreen TV of yours to pay for them!

Relationships are also important. If you know no-one, you can't progress in your job, and your social score will be very low. If you know and have relationships with to many people, it can lead to domestic disputes. Why not get a husband / wife / partner, and settle down eh? You can even move in with and marry different people from your neighbourhood.

I could go on for a lot longer, but I think you can see already what an amazing game this is. And so, to excite your simulated brain even further, here are some screenshots of The Sims going about their daily business (with captions).

Your sims always have to go to work no matter what the car pool looks like.

Never underestimate the power of friendship.

If you leave your rooms dirty it radically decreases the room score.

A promotion brings in more money but first you have to have more friends and more skills.

Getting in touch with his artistic side.

There's only one thing to do after a hard days work - hit the sack!
