What
is Hot Date?
Hot Date is yet another expansion pack for The Sims, like Livin It Up or House Party (Surely it must be a record - 3 expansions). It expands gameplay potential by adding new interactions, objects, wallpapers, floors and houses. The Sims is needed to play Hot Date, but Livin' It Up and House Party aren't.
Some new features of Hot Date are:
- The Downtown Feature
- More social interactions, like French kisses etc.
- When downtown, Sims can ring for a date
- Take dates to a restaurant, the shops or the park
- More objects like the 'Love Tub' and 'Cuddle Couch'
- More relationship features, long and short term bars in the panel
Well, what can I say? This is a truly great expansion pack, expanding the game even more than the other two put together ever could. Even though there are new objects, the downtown feature takes centre stage. Before, working, eating and sleeping consumed most of your day, with a bit of time left over for some fun. Now, with the downtown feature, time in the house is frozen, so you can get in from work, go downtown, and then come back and have enough time to do everything else you wanted to do. There are about 5 downtown lots I think, with only one free one. But each downtown area is assigned to each neighborhood, so if you change something in neighborhood 1s area, it won't make the same change in neighborhood 2s. This also means that people from different neighbourhoods can't interact, but hey, you can't have everything can you?
