Poems of Conscience

Hi, and welcome to Rhyme "N" Reason. This is my collection of poetry coming under the heading of Poetry With A Conscience. My name is Amanda Jay Clark, but my friends call me Mandy.

A Bachelor Girl - Why I am so determined, and content to stay single for the rest of my life.

A Better Tomorrow  - Women still don't get equal rights. I think that it's time that they did.

Family Values - We all work so hard, that we sometimes forget that we have a family waiting for us at home, who need us. Families are falling apart at an alarming rate, and I think that that is a real tragedy.

Justice - Do you ever tire of the villains getting a bigger break than the victims?

Living In Denial - Far too many women are forced to live in fear with abusive partners. If you are one of those women, this may be your story, and I hope it gives you some comfort. Maybe even some courage to leave and rebuild your life. Good Luck.

Man of Action - I am so tired of war, and all the killing. Can we stop it now please? I want to live, and I want a planet to live on.

Phobia - The things that fill me with dread!

The Aliens Are Coming - Why would aliens visit this planet? We can't get on as a species, so how can we welcome another one? We still have a lot to learn.

The Dream World - I am as guilty as everyone else when it comes to turning my back on many of the problems in the world. I close my eyes, go to my special dream place, and wait for the world to get better. It doesn't work that way.

September 11th.  No one is ever going to forget September 11th.  No one ever should.

The Simple Pleasures Of Life - The things I enjoy most in all this world, are the ones that don't cost very much money. (Not that I wouldn't like to be rich, but it doesn't matter too much to me that I'm not.)

Through Children's Eyes - Let's sack all the politicians, and let children rule the world for a while. I am sure that they have a much bigger sense of fair play, and can tell right from wrong far better than we adults can.

Where Are The Miracles Now - With all the trouble in the world, caused by war, drought, famine, and lack of medicines etc. I have to wonder if God has turned His back on us, ashamed of our behavior. Couldn't blame Him if He had.
