Man of Action

Welcome to Rhyme "N" Reason. Man Of Action is a poem from my Poetry With A Conscience collection. My name is Amanda Jay Clark, but my friends call me Mandy.

Don’t get me wrong, I love men, I really do, but I can’t help thinking that there is something seriously wrong with them. Why do they love war so much? Why are they so desperate to do some killing? I realise that if our country is attacked, we have to defend it, but do we have to enjoy doing it? Governments tell us who are enemies are, and then send us off to kill and die for them. My opinion of women in combat is, men always start the wars, never women. Let the men fight them. Women are the natural life givers, which is why we come a poor second to killing when compared to men. Men seem to be the natural life takers, and not necessarily in war. They kill for greed, for love, and for power. Sometimes, just for the sheer hell of it. If we want to stop this, we have to take control of the world away from men. They are destroying it a little bit more every day. It’s time to let us ladies rule the world lads. For hundreds of thousands of years, you have had your turn, and, you blew it. Give it up while we still have a planet to live on. I watched a documentary on TV the other night. Some new military super weapon. The men who invented it were so excited by its destruction capabilities. I just thought, terrific. Another way for the people I care about, to die! Do you realise that there are enough nuclear weapons made to destroy this planet twelve time over? Twelve times!!! Makes you think, doesn’t it. And, it can all be done with the push of a button. How frightening. What’s even more terrifying, is that those buttons are going to be pushed one day, by some mad dictator. We don’t have enough medicines or food to save the world, but there is always plenty of money to be found to destroy it. Imagine, if all that money, energy, and aggression was put to saving the world, and human life, instead of destroying and killing, how much more wonderful this planet would be. But, unfortunately, it’s just a dream. It will never happen so long as men rule the world! e-mail me you are passionately against war.

Man of Action.
By Amanda Jay Clark.

Man of Action, Man of War,
Tell me what you’re fighting for.
Going gladly into battle,
Killing strangers just like cattle.
Bullets smashing into bone,
In the bloody battle zone.
Bayonets tearing into flesh.
Men in cages made of mesh.
The stink of death is all around,
In the air and on the ground.
Vicious actions, barbaric ways,
Costs us dear, never pays.
An orphaned boy, fatherless daughter,
From your mindless bloody slaughter.
Nephew’s grieving, so’s his niece,
Resting in pieces, not in peace.
Malicious actions claim a life,
Leave behind another widowed wife.
Bombs exploding severing limbs,
Screaming death cries of victims.
Planes crash down on blazing fire,
Pilot cremated in the pyre.
Sailors sinking as ships go down,
To watery graves after they drown.
Soldiers spilling all their blood,
Still they tell you war is good.
Women sit at home and wait,
To hear the news of a loved ones fate.
Not understanding why you fight,
Or why you think that killing’s right.
Problems? Yes, there are many,
But killing never solved any.
Women have problems, then again,
Most of them are caused by men.
Women fight a different way,
Shouting, crying, having our say.
Then we share a cup of tea,
Forgiving him as he forgives me.
Talk’s not cheap, it solves a lot,
No corpses in the ground to rot.
Let’s live in peace instead of war,
It’s truly something to abhor.
No need for bloodshed in the end,
Turn that enemy into a friend.
For the sake of the world and peace of mind,
Hand control to womankind.
We don’t destroy the way you do,
You’ll damn the world before you’re through.
Vote for living, vote for love.
Ignore the Devil, embrace the dove.
Women are the gentler race,
Winning war without losing face.
Winning without loss of life,
No need for gun, cannon or knife.
Victory without causing pain,
Our soldiers all come home again.
Women are the natural carers,
No war funerals or pall bearers.
Women are the fairer sex,
Saving creation with charm and hex.
If you want to live, you have no choice,
But to listen to my voice.
Freedom needn’t have a price,
Killing needn’t be a vice.
Let’s unite in honour and glory,
Triumph doesn’t have to be gory.
Remove the holsters from your hips,
Melt the guns down into paper clips.
When you have peace in your heart,
It’s a perfect place to start.
Then you’ll have peace in your mind.
And, another thing you’ll find,
Love is easier than hate,
And we decide our final fate.
If you want heaven on judgement day,
Start doing things a woman’s way.
No more hurting, no more killing,
No more battles, then God willing,
Satan will be kept at bay,
On your final mortal day.
I speak the truth, I tell no lies,
And here’s one more word to the wise,
Women are your last chance for,
Making love instead of war!
