No one is ever going to forget September 11th. No one must ever be allowed to forget it. But out of that tragedy, will come glory. Side by side, nation to nation, we will unite to fight and defeat the terrorist who want to destroy our democratic way of life. We will not let them win.
September
11th.
By Amanda Jay Clark.
Out
of the sunshine of a September sky,
Came a darkness like never before.
A cloud of pure evil rained, and crashed down,
Shocking the world to the core.
No one ever believed this would happen,
It was impossible to accept.
Yet as we watched all the horror unfolding,
Our eyes took it all in, and wept.
The
sunshine became a river of fire,
That burned, consumed, and destroyed.
Tough steal and bricks all crumbled to dust,
The Twin Towers became a big void.
The breathable air was all turned off,
And replaced with a blanket of smoke.
A city, so alive a moment before,
Fell to it’s knees and started to choke.
It
started as just another Tuesday.
Everyone doing their daily thing.
Working hard at their jobs without a clue,
Of the tragedy the day would bring.
As they kissed goodbye that morning,
To the families they cherished with pride,
They had no idea they were saying goodbye for ever,
And that before lunch they will have died.
Through the screaming, and through the sheer terror,
Through the cries of, “Help,” and “Why?”
Came heroes of tremendous courage,
Who didn’t deserve to die.
So much grief and so much suffering,
For the families and friends left behind.
Searching for answers and longing for comfort,
And any understanding they could find.
But
how do we punish these sinner?
These demons who caused us such pain?
By fighting back and ensuring for ever,
That the heroes deaths were never in vain.
We will go on into victory.
Of our glory, the world we will tell.
Like a phoenix, we’ll rise from the ashes,
While the terrorists are burning in hell.
We
shall rebuild, and we shall recover.
We will unite, and we will grow strong.
We will not live in fear, or in hiding.
We will courageously right the wrong.
We will not be controlled or beaten,
We will fight on a mighty scale,
To make sure that Bin Laden and Sadam,
Shall fall, and weep, and fail.
They
will hear our message out load and clear.
Democracy will win the day.
Our freedom will always be guaranteed.
We will not let you have your way.
As we stand tall, nation by nation,
And with passion in every stride,
We shall fight, and march on to victory,
Proud to be side by side.
We
will sing the praises of every victim.
And give comfort to all the bereaved.
We will offer our hearts and our friendship,
So that their suffering may be relieved.
We will fly our flags, and sing our songs,
We will smile, and our laughter will roar.
Our tears will dry, and our sorrow will fade,
And the sun will come out once more.
