Black Orc Warboss
The caves in these parts were usually inhabited by some beast or the other, and Orgat always liked a fight, after true orcy fashion. But this cave was uninhabited. Just as Orgat was about to leave it again, he saw something shiney in the moonlight, all the way in the back of the cave.
Curiously he walked that way, and there, crudely stacked behind a rock, almost blocking it entirely from sight, lay a rusty but still sturdy armour. It seemed to be sized for an orc, so Orgat tried it out. Just then, he heard cries from the camp.
Picking up his axe, he went to the camp, just in time to have missed a good fighting with a couple of Dwarfs that lived in the mountains and went out seeing what all the campfires were.
Warboss Umm yelled he wanted his best warriors, the Black Orcs, to come with him to pursue the Dwarfs ("dey might 'ave mates 'iding 'ere somewhere"). But Umm got more than he bargained for.
Around a bend in the road, the Dwarven army had their artillery, crossbows and guns deployed. The first line of Orcs got the full load and most of them didn't survive the attack. The Dwarf that appeared in command placed a particulary nasty shot with his pistol, aimed right between Umms eyes. The impact of it, knocked Umms helmet right off his brow.
Acting on impulse, Orgat grabbed it from the air and thrust it onto his own head. And right in time too, for the cannons fired again. Having no hope to escape, Orgat did what any reasonable orc would do. He tried to 'eadbutt the cannonball. But unlike most who've tried, Orgat's new helmet bounced it nicely aside.
About all of the bullets and bolts that struck him bounced off as well. But Orgat had no time to ponder this over. The remaining Orcs, about half of those that pursued the Dwarfs, made it behind the deadly line of bullets and cannonballs, and they quickly bested the artillery crews and the lightly-armoured (for a Dwarf) gunners.
Then Orgat suddenly faced the Dwarf that had shot Umm. "I'll shoot that helmet thing right off of your ugly nogging too!", he shouted. Not being impressed, Orgat swung his axe at the Dwarf. Barely able to duck away, the Dwarf took out his pistol again and took aim. But this time, Orgat was too close for him to get a clear shot, and so the bullet dented Orgat's armour instead. Not being very happy about this, Orgat made sure that that was the last shot the Dwarf had ever fired.
A petty few returned to the camp. There they told the rest what had happened, Orgat not forgetting to tell all and more about 'eadbutting a cannonball, as well as taking down the Dwarf thane. These stories, confirmed by the surviving few Black Orcs, were enough to get over the dead of Warboss Umm very soon and make a part of the army follow Orgat. The rest of it, lead by Umm's second in command, went hunting for Dwarves, never to be heard from again.
The model to represent Orgat is the Games Day 2000 Black Orc miniature. It's painted like the rest of my Black Orcs (not finished yet, but I'll put up a painting guide there as soon as I have).
