Why doesn't the bible mention dinosaurs?
Isn't it obvious the Earth is millions of years old?
Why doesn't the Bible mention dinosaurs? First of all, fossilization is not a slow, gradual process that takes place over millions of years. Rather, fossilization almost always requires rapid burial. The reason why the Bible seemingly doesn't mention dinosaurs is because you don't know all the facts. Fossilization is a very rare and unusual occurrence, not an everyday event. According to the best available evidence, animals and plants cannot become fossils unless they are buried relatively quickly and deeply in the appropriate materials. The usual animal or plant that dies in a forest does not become a fossil, and neither does the average creature that dies in a sea or lake. Under most normal conditions, a dead creature floats and disintegrates. The body is destroyed by predators, bacteria and the elements. Creationists believe that the conditions that would be most ideal for the kind of massive fossil formations found in the sediments would be a violent, global flood catastrophe. Dinosaur remains worldwide are associated with water-laid sediment. Well, guess what? The Bible talks about a flood like that. And it just so happens that it occurred in the days when reptiles and lizards would have gotten really really big. You see, reptiles never stop growing. It's just a simple biological fact that reptiles grow all their life and never stop until the day they die. With that in mind, look at the genealogies from Adam up until Noah. You'll find that just about everyone back then lived to be 900 years old, which is about 10 times longer than the average lifespan today. And it wouldn't just be people. It would be plants, animals....the whole ecosystem -including lizards. If lizards lived 10 times longer, and reptiles keep growing until the day they die, then you can imagine how big they would've gotten. Reptiles in Noah's day would've been absolutely enormous. Lizards would've been huge! Scientists have found fossilized remains of crocodiles that reached up to 40 to 50 feet in length. Now, why did those crocodiles get so big back then? And why can't they get nearly that big today? Evolutionists would say it's because they are prehistoric. Oh, because they were prehistoric huh? As if THAT explains anything! Look, they were not prehistoric. The reason they got so big is because they lived so long in the days of Noah. The reason they fossilized is because of the floodwaters in Noah's day. And it's not just true of crocodiles, but also of dinosaurs. The reason why dinosaurs seemingly couldn't have been alive in the days of Noah is because the million year age estimates that are assigned to dinosaurs by evolutionists are presented to the public in such a way to where they seem to be scientific fact when in reality they are actually quite theoretical. Not all scientists agree that dinosaurs went extinct millions of years before man. Not even all the dating methods agree with those million year age estimates. And even the dating methods that do agree have been found to be very questionable and many times inaccurate. For instance, according to the Journal of Geophysical Research in 1978, new rock in the form of hardened lava flows produced estimated ages as great as 3 billion to 10.5 billion years when they were actually less than 200 years old. Does that sound like an accurate age estimate to you? Thats not just a minor miscalculation. Thats a major, major inaccuracy. If youre going to question the accuracy of the Bible based upon dinosaurs, dont you think it would actually be hypocritical for you to not also question the accuracy of radiometric dating? How can you question the one but not the other? How can you look at that speck of sawdust in your brothers eye, but pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? Thats hypocrisy. How can you say that the Bible must be inaccurate based upon dating methods, when the whole time you fail to realize that radiometric dating which you base all your beliefs off of is chock-full of inaccuracies. Hypocrite! First take the inaccurate dating methods out of the equation, and then youll see clearly as to how dinosaurs fit into the Bible.
