REFLECTION
The focus of Standard II is the Technology Facilitator's commitment to the teachers in her district.  She needs to help the teachers identify and utilize all the district technology resources including the hardware, software, and Internet research capability.  In addition, as the facilitator I would provide assistance with curriculum units and lesson plans that integrate state content standards with technology operations.  This language arts lesson plan on writing poetry that I designed combines student writing objectives with technology goals.  The children will use an Excel Spreadsheet to help them with their brainstorming and prewriting, create a slide for a class PowerPoint presentation, and upload a picture from the Internet to illustrate their poem.  This lesson demonstrates one  way that I can help teachers meet the challenge of integrating technology into the subject areas.

Teachers can spend many hours looking up useful sites on the Internet to utilize in their own lessons and with their students as they assign projects throughout the year.  I have included of a detailed annotated list of
Inernet Research Sites that I would maintain and update for various grade levels.  As Technology Facilitator, I would maintain a link to this list on my website so that it would be available to the teachers whenever they have a chance to access it.  Periodically, I would canvas the teachers for addtional useful sites that I would add to this list.

The Technology Facilitator must also consider weaknesses in the district and make software and online courseware recommendations that give teachers additional
resources to improve test scores and meet the district's objectives.  Suggestions of this type would be presented to the principal in the form of a white paper like the one I wrote.  I include it  here to explain several ways for district administrators and teachrs to address student problems with mathematics through technology solutions.
