Jose Pidal might be a terrorist or a coup plotter: Sanlakas solon dares GMA to order a manhunt

Party-List Rep. JV Bautista of Sanlakas today dared President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to order a manhunt of Jose Pidal if she wants to clear herself of any involvement in the reported Palace’s cover up of her husband.

It’s more than a week now when Sen. Ping Lacson made an expose on the existence of multi-million peso Jose Pidal account deposited in Union Bank Perea branch.

In his privilege speech, Lacson accused First Gentleman Mike Arroyo of maintaining fictitious accounts under the name Jose Pidal. Arroyo vehemently denied Lacson’s accusations.

“But if Jose Pidal is not Mike Arroyo, who is he?” Bautista asked.
“He might be a very dangerous man. He might be a terrorist who is in possession of bombs. He might be a coup plotter who might be hatching another plan,” the solon warned.

“We wonder why in the face of these very possible scenario, GMA is more bothered by the scandal rather than the threat that could possibly come from Pidal,” Bautista added.

He pointed out that the mere existence of fictitious accounts is enough reason for the government to be worried about.

The party-list solon admitted that rather than be puzzled by this sudden turn of events, the people are rather getting a clearer view of it because of the way Malacanang is reacting to the scandal.

Bautista is pointing to the amount of resources and energy the government is using in building up its case against the July 27 mutineers, searching every corner of the Metropolis for bombs and other evidences just to pin down the rebel soldiers.

“But here in the Jose Pidal case, all we are seeing is a stubborn reluctance by Malacanang. Do they have something to hide? Or it is because GMA won’t step on the mine that might explode on her face,” Bautista concluded.
