PRESS RELEASE

Bush visit another "bwisit" to the country's political climate

In reaction to a statement by US Ambassador Francis Ricciardone that US President George W. Bush would still visit the country despite the ongoing political unrest, the militant group Sanlakas today declared that the Bush visit is going to be another "bwisit" (nuisance) to the country's already turbulent political climate

"Bush is not even a peace maker to begin with. He is a warmonger. His planned visit and this kind of intervention is the least this country needs at this point in time," Wilson Fortaleza, Sanlakas national president said.

Fortaleza asserted that the motive of the Bush visit is not just a loyalty check but also to congratulate the Arroyo administration for its subservience and its all-out support to the so-called War on Terror. It would also be an endorsement of her candidacy for the 2004 elections.

"It's not the people but GMA who badly needs the endorsement of Bush to convince the business sector to rally behind her candidacy," Fortaleza said.

"Bush's endorsement of an unpopular presidentiable, he said, "would only heighten the tension between the warring trapos who would scramble inside to get the endorsement of their foreign lord."

But the Filipino people, he said, would not care about the presence of a warmonger, who is not only becoming very unpopular at home but is also being condemned by peace loving people around the world.

The group is planning to mount massive protests in time for the arrival of Bush in October.

Sanlakas, rather, issued an "unsolicited advice" to the US president: "Instead of a State visit, it would be better for Bush to send CSI experts to the country to track down the real Jose Pidal and those responsible for the escape of Indonesian terrorist Fathur Rohman Al-Ghozi".
