"It must be here. I know I saw it in here..."
The first impression you have of this room is of chaos. Assorted books, trinkets, curios and other pieces of equipment are scattered across desks, chairs, and shelves. Among these are recognizable objects, but you can only guess at the purpose of some of the other devices. In the middle of the room a thin, unassuming man is rummaging through a pile of books, peering intently at the names on their spines. After a moment he notices your arrival and turns to greet you. He avoids making eye contact, but smiles in a welcoming manner.
"Greetings. I'm Calatin Ex Miscellanea." He looks around at the chaos and smiles apologetically. "I'm sorry about the mess. I keep meaning to clear it up, but there are so many interesting things here that I keep getting distracted..." He picks up a strangely-shaped dagger. "Here, let me tell you about this. I found it in a market in Tunis, or..." He seizes a book, "What about this one? It tells of a volcano fiercer than Etna..." Turning again, he gathers up an astrolabe, "How about..." When he notices your confused expression he stops speaking and looks apologetic again."What can I help you with?"
